As a Lead Research Microbiologist you will:

• Serve as a Team Leader.
• Lead the team in: identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization; making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks; and ensuring that each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product.
• Serve as a senior scientist and nationally recognized technical authority in viral diagnostics.
• Plan, prioritize, initiate, design, conduct, coordinate, direct, lead basic and apply research studies, particularly as related to development of novel diagnostics for virus families that cause diseases of humans.
• Provide consultation and advice to the agency in areas of personal research expertise.
• Participate in the development of policy and educational documents and on review and advisory panels.

As an Education Program Specialist you will:

• Function as the head of an assigned educational curriculum area with responsibility to manage associated education programs, training curricula, and/or career enhancement activities.
• Participate in agency operational or planning meetings and publicize educational program goals, objectives, and/or accomplishments.
• Perform review and analyses of administration initiatives and new technologies that may impact education and development programs.
• Collaborate and partner with internal and external stakeholders and serve as a technical expert.

As an Intelligence Research Specialist (Global), you will:

• Serve as a team member for the Global Security Team, researching, reviewing, interpreting, evaluating, and integrating all-source intelligence data, and other sources of classified and unclassified data, plans, and/or products pertaining to national security and/or global security threats.
• Represent the agency through liaison activity with other government entities and ensure the agency remains aware of all threats which may impact the agency's mission.
• Provide advice for comprehensive overseas defensive activities that is directed towards the protection of personnel, facilities, and residences.
• Prepare threat assessments and brief top level management and subject matter experts.
• Develop and distribute security awareness materials to agency travelers and overseas missions concerning facility physical security, personnel security, emergency communications, etc.

As a Research Science Officer you will:

• Participate in Division policy and planning and is responsible for accomplishing the mission of the Division.
• Direct and provide expert advice with respect to development of public health research systems.
• Prepare or review the preparation of all reports, articles or monographs describing findings from studies or projects conducted as part of the research and services programs noted above.
• Participate in policy and planning determination pertaining to the Division's research program
• Support staff in their scientific writing competency.
