As a Branch Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation, drive exceptional customer service to our customers to ensure repeat sales and provide training & coaching with the Internal sales team and branch assistants to ensure service level targets are consistently achieved.

As a Branch Manager, you will ideally have previous management experience within a wholesale environment, have a fresh and innovative approach to sales and attracting new customers to keep, increase and drive branch sales to ensure daily/weekly targets are exceeded.

Branch Manager – Background, Experience & attributes needed:

- Full UK driving license is essential
- Experience of commercially managing a business unit / branch within the industrial supplies sector is essential
- To have had experience of working under pressure in a fast-paced role, whilst maintaining a consistent eye for detail

Locum Ward Manager, Band 8a

Opportunity available for an experienced Mental Health Ward Manager to oversee two acute wards at Highgate Mental Health Centre.
The hourly rate for this role is: £36.00 per hour - Paid via umbrella

This role is commence ASAP and will be working full time, 37.5 hours per week. The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide a visible presence in clinical areas and be accessible to patients, families and carers
• Monitoring of Trust standards
• Coaching staff in relation to Trust protocols and procedures
• Use advanced clinical practice skills and expert knowledge in conjunction with nationally recognised assessment tools to accurately assess clinical, psychosocial or health status.
• Participate in emergency responses (both psychiatric and medical).
• Assimilate and review subjective and objective assessment information to inform decision-making, and negotiate and regularly review a personal care plan with the patient, carers/ relatives and the relevant members of the multi-disciplinary team
• 40% of contractual hours to be linked to clinical responsibilities.
• Work with managers, ward staff and clinical teams to ensure high standards of clinical care are delivered to patients at all times.
• Promote health through empowering patients and carers and, offering appropriate health education, information and advice to enable them to make informed decisions about their care.
• Ensure agreed high standards of cleanliness are met in all clinical and public areas of the Trust supporting the ward staff and clinical teams in fulfilling their infection control and prevention responsibilities and ensuring cleaning standards are met.
• Support the development and implementation of Clinical Governance initiatives in conjunction with the Head of Nursing.
• Create an environment and culture in which infection prevention and control is integral to care delivery. Set and monitor environmental standards and take responsibility ensuring compliance to cleaning audits and other inspection specifications are met.
• Establish a communication framework in which members of the team work effectively internally and externally across clinical teams and across the Trust to optimise the patient journey and to improve patient outcomes.

Leadership and Performance Management
The Matron will provide clinical and professional leadership and actively promote integrated working within the team; communicate and support the delivery of a vision for high quality nursing care for service users and their families.

The post holder will:

• Be responsible for the immediate line and performance management of identified managers of inpatient services
• Maintain the team performance management framework, taking appropriate actions, and ensuring that there is clear communication of the team functions, standards and targets.
• Have overall responsibility for the management of resources within their service area including staffing, finances and key performance indicators
• Manage allocated budgets and scrutinise use of resources so that services are delivered to acceptable clinical standards making the best use of those resources.

The post holder will:

• Lead on delivering training for staff at team and individual level on management of physical health needs of patients
• Plan with teaching establishments appropriate placement objectives and competencies to facilitate an effective and valuable learning experience for pre-registration nurses ensuring that they meet NMC standards for nursing students.
• Disseminate new and innovative practice and quality care initiatives with colleagues.
• Develop and demonstrate skills in understanding and applying relevant research to clinical practice
• Create a positive learning environment where skills and knowledge can be shared using a variety of media thereby developing a culture of continuous improvement and development in clinical practice.
• Lead teams in undertaking practice audit and research to ensure evidence based practice and innovation including the development and audit of quality metrics.
• Complete all statutory and mandatory training as per organisational schedule.
• Be accountable for their practice and participate in yearly performance review.

Communication
The post holder will be expected to:

• Produce written communication of highly complex and sensitive information including patient reports, project reports and policy documents.
• Chair, lead and participate frequently in meetings and work groups e.g. ADCOM weekly meeting, bed management meetings, team meetings and other clinical or management meetings on a weekly or monthly basis and as and when required.
• Be frequently involved in negotiating with various disciplines, various levels of management, clinicians and with service users and their families.
• Manage and diffuse distressing and emotional situations in a sensitive manner with service users, often at times when they have difficulty communicating or understanding (e.g. when experiencing psychotic, suicidal or aggressive feelings, or when dealing with issues relating to vulnerable adults).
• Lead and participate in a range of committees, steering groups, reference groups and meetings.
• To act as an ambassador and role model supporting the aims and vision of the Trust.
• To maintain effective team working with partners including primary care, statutory, voluntary and independent sector organisations.
