This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Setting Out Surveyor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.
Due to project progression, we are looking for multiple Surveyors skilled in Setting Out, at various levels, to include:
Day to day, you will play a key role through carrying out Surveying responsibilities integral in the construction of Hinkley Point C.
- Complete setting out surveys prior to equipment arriving on site for layout of the temporary equipment and the permanent equipment
- Conduct post install location surveys for as built drawings all to the ensure compliance to the designed tolerances
- Review any supplied setting out data to check design co-ordinates against the site grid system to ensure compatibility
- Produce "As-built" surveys of equipment foundations, including cast anchors and embedded plates
- Oversee a team of surveyors on site - exclusive to Senior Surveyor
This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time 38 hours per week, and is based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.
Essential experience of the Setting Out Surveyor
- Strong experience of Setting Out
- Experience with survey equipment, such as Total Station and Digital Level
- Production of Survey Reports
- Knowledge of CDM regulations
- AutoCAD (essential) and STARNET (desirable) experience
- Management of Survey Teams - exclusive to Senior Surveyor
Qualifications for the Setting Out Surveyor
- Surveying or Engineering qualifications or suitable experience
Security Clearance
