The Business Development Manager is responsible for the maximization of business opportunities to achieve profit targets for the company through the identification and attraction of sustainable new business. This is achieved by sourcing prospects, building relationships with contacts at the appropriate senior level, and developing and negotiating tenders and proposals.
- To maintain existing business relationships and secure new business growth through direct customer contacts and networking.
- To actively pursue and achieve agreed growth and sales targets.
- To plan, implement and evaluate the overall business development and market growth strategies.
- To analyze present and new business opportunities and define priority market segments and industries.
- To identify, develop and launch new services that will strengthen the company’s market position and competitiveness.
- To liaise with other management members on local and regional level to determine new services and modify existing services to meet customer needs.
- To formulate, develop and implement the overall business development policies and plans to realize the company’s objectives.
- To prepare sales and marketing forecasts, budgets, and development programs.
- To determine budgetary requirements and work within these to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
- To identify and study market potential for new and existing services short, mid and long term.
- To proactively create and manage short- and long-term new business pipeline.
- To define a strategy how to win new key industries and customers.
- At least 7 years’ experience in business development in a management role.
- Thorough knowledge of different areas of logistics, systems, transport, warehousing, automation.
- Understanding of diverse operational environments within different Industrial sectors.
- Planning and budgeting experience.
- Knowledge of safety systems and compliance requirements.
- Very strong commercial negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- High level of self-motivation and innovative abilities.
- Considerable commercial business acumen.
- High level of maturity, discretion, and judgment.
- Flexibility to take on ad-hoc responsibilities
