The successful candidate should provide quality patient centered care, demonstrate clinical excellence, decision making skills, commitment and the ability to oversee a complex clinical cases, coordinate and facilitate patient care with other health professionals, participate in education activities and peer review process as requested, maintain clinical practice privilege at good standards, maintain unrestricted medical license, demonstrate leadership skills.
Neurology department provides inpatient consultation services at the VA Salisbury health system and Outpatient services at 3 different locations- Salisbury campus, Charlotte HCC, Kernersville HCC. VA Salisbury holds national multiple sclerosis centers of excellence and offers specialty clinics in neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, Botox, EMG and EEG services, on site infusion services available at all 3 locations. We have Academic affiliation with Wake Forest Baptist hospital and provide education training for Neurology residents, medical students and PA students.
Salisbury VA health system provide a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology, as well as extensive education and research programs. Comprehensive health care services are provided in multiple areas of medicine department, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, Primary care, Geriatrics, TBI clinic.
Specific Duties May Include:
- Outpatient and Inpatient Neurology Consults
- Electrodiagnostic studies: EMG/NCS/ EEG
- Participation in activities, committees, boards, projects pertinent to the sub-specialty as dictated by strategic or other initiatives/taskings
- Wake Forest Baptist Health faculty appointment is encouraged for opportunities to work with residents and students
- Provider will act as "surrogates" for the patients of their colleagues when their colleagues are on leave
- Enter progress notes on inpatients on which the subspecialist rounds during weekdays, weekends or holidays
- On call duties
