Your Main Objective:

• Develop new, or modify existing: 

• Electrical layout/plan of substation equipment and structures

• Substation foundation layout/plan drawings

• Section/elevation views from layout/plan drawings

• Conduit layout/plan drawings

• Substation grounding layout/plan drawings

• Control building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings

• Develop a complete bill of materials for all required electrical equipment and materials.

• Review and comment on equipment drawings received from vendors and manufacturers.

• Work with other disciplines (e.g., Civil Engineers) as necessary to complete assigned work.

• Assist the project team with developing processes and procedures to increase team efficiency.

• Perform basic engineering calculations to support engineering design

• Apply relevant client, national, and state standards to each assignment as needed.

What Sets You Apart: 

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.

• Level 1: 2-4 years of direct substation physical and electrical design experience using CAD software on electric utility industry projects.

• Level 2: 4-8 years of direct substation physical and electrical design experience using CAD software on electric utility industry projects.

• A combination of education and a demonstrated related experience may be considered in lieu of education and experience requirements.

• Solid comprehension and application of design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.

• Proficient with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel, which are frequently used to develop project deliverables.

Your Main Objective

As a Lead Engineer on our electric transmission design projects, you'll have the opportunity to work on high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) overhead utility systems. What Sets You Apart:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.

Be a part of the Product Development team for FOX Factory Performance Vehicle Development (PVD), the division that specializes in custom upfit packages on Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis vehicles. The Sim Team, PD Training and MTC Level III manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of these three teams. The Payload Activity Requirements Coordinator (PARC) is the Payload Developer's (PD) interface for payload planning. The PARC works assigned payloads across all increments for the life of the payload. Assignments tend to be of moderate complexity, diversification or expense. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined. Normally receives instructions on new projects or assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Works with the PD in developing the payload planning software models for operations on ISS for each increment. 
• Develops payload activity models used in other products such as the On-orbit Operations Summary (OOS), Planning Ground rules and Constraints (Gr&C), the Weekly Look-ahead Plan (WLP), and the Short Term Plan (STP).
• Delivers the completed payload activity models to the Payload Planning Managers (PPM) for pre-increment and real-time planning, at the completion of the baselining process.
• Supports the re-planning process and any updates for planning documentation and software if changes are needed
• Prepares products and supports the Team Engineering Change Request (ECR) Review for their assigned payloads, as well as the Readiness Check meetings in conjunction with the PPM.
• Requires expertise in the Operations Planning Timeline Integration System (OPTIMIS) suite including the Web Activity Dictionary (WebAD) and Score. 
• Utilizes Microsoft Excel and Power Point extensively to build planning products. 
• Uses the Operations Change Requests OCR application to facilitate planning updates required for near real-time execution re-planning as well as to document planning changes that impact the next immediate increment pair.
• Requires a basic understanding of ISS resources such as power, data, and video, and must also possess logic skills to build sequences of activities that facilitate efficient planning in the timeline.

Leidos is seeking a Substation Designer to work remotely.

In this role, you will use accepted practices and standards to create substation design drawing packages and required documents for electric power substations from 4kV to 500kV.

Substation Designer Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete drafting assignments on Protection & Control, SCADA, Communications drawings including but not limited to Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, SCADA and Communication drawings, Control Building Layouts and Elevations, Panel Front Views and Cabinet Layouts, Wiring Diagrams, Interconnection Drawings, AC/DC Station Service drawings and other miscellaneous drawings as necessary by project scope.
• Complete drafting assignments on Physical Electrical drawings including but not limited to General Arrangement, Electrical Plans, Electrical Elevations, Sections and Details, Foundation Plans and Details, Structural Details, Grounding Plan and Details, Raceway Plan and Details, Equipment Vendor Files and other drawings as required by project scope.
• Support remote office overflow CAD workload on a need and availability basis.  This will require coordination with other CAD leads in Leidos offices.

Substation Designer Required Qualifications:

• Level 2 - High School diploma and 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Level 3 - High School diploma and 2-4 years of relevant experience

Substation Designer Required Qualifications for all levels:

• Drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Coursework and/or project work will be considered.
• Knowledge of drafting standards, techniques and procedures.
• Proficiency with the manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.
• Proficiency with Windows operating system environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong professional verbal and written communication skills within a team environment.
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Ability to perform tasks in a fast paced engineering/production environment.

Substation Designer Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate of Applied Science in Drafting and Design degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience with file sharing, document management and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint, etc.
• Ability to comprehend and implement a wide range of client CAD standards.
• Experience with 3-D modelling in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience with Substation Design Suite (SDS) for Inventor.                                                                             
• Knowledge of VBA and/or AutoLisp.

We are looking for a Substation Physical Engineer to join our team. As an Career Substation Physical Engineer, candidates will have the opportunity to work on projects for electric utilities at voltages from 12kV up to 500kV. This is an exciting and growing field in the power systems industry and allows candidates to get exposure to how the power generation such as that of renewable energy ties into the electric system. Candidates will be expected to use knowledge of digital logic design, AC and DC circuits to design substation electrical projects.

The Challenge:

• Experience in executing substation physical projects
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with the internal team and clients to meet project needs.
• Performing quality control checks on substation physical design projects.
• Expected to read and design substation physical drawings such as one-line drawings, three-line drawings, plan-section drawings, foundation, grounding drawings.
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical
• Expected to attend site visit at customer location

Successful candidates must comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget. This position will be a member of a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and CAD technicians and will work with client standards to implement design.

What Sets You Apart:

• Mid-Level: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related degree with two (2+) or more years of related substation physical design experience.
• Senior-Level: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related degree with four (4+) or more years of related substation physical design experience.
• Lead-Level: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related degree with eight (8+) or more years of related substation physical design experience.
• Experience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studies.
• Demonstrate Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with the internal team and clients to meet project needs.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure situations.
• Collaborator and leader who can work effectively in team environment.
• Self-starter who works independently with minimal direction.
• Strong analytical skills and proven problem solver in both team and independent environments.
• High level of computer competency.
