The position serves as the Lead Advanced Medical Support Assistant in the VA New England VISN 1 VA Medical Center. The Chief, Care Management and Social Work Service has full responsibility for provision of complex social work services requiring advanced practice skills as well as administrative responsibility for numerous programs such as Community Nursing Home, Respite, Contract Adult Day Healthcare, Veteran Directed Home Care, Advance Care Planning, Caregiver Support, Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program, and Post 9/11 Military to VA. Additional program areas with coordination responsibilities lying within Care management and Social Work include the Visual Impairment Services Team, Polytrauma/TBI, and Spinal Cord Injury and Diseases, including Multiple Sclerosis and ALS.

The Ambulatory Surgery Perioperative Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for patient outcomes resulting from the nursing care for the patient undergoing a surgical/invasive procedure.
