The role is about supporting people to lead a Gloriously ordinary life full of opportunity, fun and helping people to reach their goals and aspirations. The role can be tough, but the rewards outweigh for example one individual is now comfortable to express her identity and is looking forward to living near Brighton where her dream is to attend the annual Pride festival, attend a club and just be in a place where she is fully accepted.

You will need to be adaptable, flexible, mature and be able to support our people to gain back their independence through empowerment, active support, positive risk-taking and out of the box thinking. It's important to note that some people being supported may self-harm, have anxiety or on occasion show behaviours of concern.

At present all the people we support have several hours of 1:1 support during the day as well as some shared support day and night. The ideal people will have a passion for working with people with enduring mental health, a keen interest in the psychology behind complex behaviours that challenge and the willingness to learn and practice Positive Behaviour Support
