Library Services are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and adaptable person to supervise the day to day work of Library Assistants and Customer Service Assistants as part of the Saturday Team. Working closely with the Team Leader, you will ensure excellent customer service is consistently provided across all service points to support students and staff. As part of your role, you will contribute to recruitment and selection, carry out meetings and appraisals and deliver training for Assistants.
As a member of the Library Services team based in one of our libraries you will be comfortable supporting traditional library and information activities and first line support for computer users. Reliability and some flexibility are required to maintain the advertised opening hours.
You should be qualified to HNC or HND in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification; candidates who lack formal qualifications but can offer significant, relevant experience may also be considered. You should have good communication, customer care and team working skills.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications software, internet and email is essential as is the ability to relate this to user support. Experience of working within a customer focused environment in a front-line service and a willingness to acquire new skills as required is essential for this post.
