In accordance with the practice rota, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing/authorising repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly referring patients to other services/agencies in a timely manner, utilising Practice, PCN and local guidelines Recognise the need for and be able to perform and interpret investigatory procedures, including laboratory and radiology. The position advertised will involve undertaking all the standard duties of a practice nurse. Training can be arranged .This includes cervical smears ,immunisations both adult/child and travel and chronic disease management amongst other standard duties. The exact details can be tailored to some extent to the candidate although ability to undertake smears and immunisations is helpful

We are looking for a Full Time Permanent Head Chef to join the team in our Restaurant in Garden Wise Garden Centre.

Our competitive rates of pay range are dependant on experience.

The hours for this role are 45 per week over 5 days. All positions include weekend working so flexibility is a must. However we have the added benefit of no evening work and no split shifts. Our Centre is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day which means time with the family on these important days.

Our restaurant boasts an impressive menu serving the highest quality, mouth-watering dishes using the best local produce along with sweet treats and home baking from our on-site bakery. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Chef who will relish the prospect of working in this fantastic facility.


The Role

As the Head Chef, you will lead to team in all areas of food production. A true foodie, you will bring your personality to the kitchen inspiring and motivating your team passion to produce freshly cooked, fabulous food.

Along with the Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for the overall restaurant operation to drive sales, maintain operating standards, develop the restaurant team, and deliver a fantastic experience for our customers.

What you will be doing as a Head Chef?


Lead the daily operation of the kitchen, you will be ‘hands on’.
Plan menus and daily specials within company framework.
Plan and manage the chef and kitchen team in the preparation of all meals.
Monitor stock levels and manage stock orders and carry our weekly stock count to ensure GP targets are achieved.
Manage the cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards.
Plan rotas and holidays to meet service level requirements
Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to achieve the highest and standards, service and sales.

Hours: Days, 46 Hours per week, working weekends on rota (Shift Times 07:45 – 20:15 )
Nestled in Kempston, Bedfordshire, our nursing home extends a warm greeting from the moment you step inside. With expertise in nursing, residential, dementia, and respite care, the home accommodates up to eighty residents.

ABOUT THE SENIOR CARE ASSISTANT ROLE
Within your role as a Senior Care Assistant, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Your responsibilities will include:

Aiding residents emotional well-being and social needs
Administration and monitoring of medications to residents.
Supporting residents at meals time
Mentor & assist new employees.
Implement, monitor and review care plans to meet residents specific needs.
Plan, allocate & supervise the work of the team of care assistants

Experience as a Senior Care Assistant & leading a team.
Be no stranger to working night shifts
Have a friendly & caring attitude.
Able to engage well with the residents and their families
Have an understanding of people with Dementia
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social care or willing to work towards this.
Great communication skills, both written & verbal.

Do you have creative flare & want to make a difference everyday?
We are looking for an Activities Coordinator with creative flare and out-of-the box thinking to organise, run events and activities for our residents. From pumpkin-carving, to budding gardening, crafts and more - no two days will ever be the same as you support our residents to try new things and ensure they feel connected with the wider community.
What you will be doing: It’s hard to capture everything but we’ve jotted down a few key parts of the role below:

Organise varied activities within the Home to cater for a variety of interests and life stories for individuals, small groups and large numbers of residents.
Meet targets set out to improve our resident’s lives which includes getting to know every resident through our 'Resident of the Day’ programme
Work together with other local community groups and the wider local area.
Bring fun, ideas, and energy into our residents’ lives! Inspire others through great relationships, to deliver a range of thought-provoking wellbeing ideas
Coordinate a wide range of trips & experiences within the local area for small groups & individuals
Arrange key events throughout the year, such as seasonal celebrations & charity events

About You
We are looking for someone who is friendly, welcoming, and entertaining, and would ensure all activities are appropriate for all residents.

An understanding of care sector would be advantageous
Have a friendly & caring attitude
Good planning & development skills
Able to engage well with the residents and their families
Be proactive, passionate, and supportive team player, with experience of maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
You will be going out and about, networking, planning activities and with residents therefore having access to your own vehicle with business Insurance is essential
