Middleware Administration

Job Description

One Research Engineer position is open in the research group of Assistant Professor Zhao Lin, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Research Engineer (RE) will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on visual navigation foundation model for mobile robots, exploration using reinforcement learning control, learning-based control, etc. The RE will develop and train algorithms that enable intelligent and robust autonomous navigation in unseen environments. Hardware experiments will be carried out to test and demonstrate the applications of the developed algorithms.

The initial appointment duration is 12 months, which can then be extended based on an evaluation at the end of the initial appointment.

The candidates should have a Master’s degree from a reputable university, with expertise in robot learning, reinforcement learning, and aerial robotics.

A successful candidate should have a solid mathematical background (such as in calculus, linear algebra, ODE/PDE, optimization, real analysis, probability theory, stochastic process, etc). Strong publication records in leading journals and conferences of the relevant fields, and practical hands-on experience in applying visual foundation models to real mobile robots are required.

Qualifications

Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a research fellow to join the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein at the National University of Singapore (NUS) launched on 5 September 2024, the first of its kind in Asia to advance research in alternative proteins. Led by experts from NUS and research institutes in Singapore, the Centre aims to drive global food security and accelerate regional innovation. The focus will be on microalgae research and biomass fermentation, to produce high-quality, affordable, and sustainable microbial proteins from microalgae and biomass fermentation that can be further developed into cultured meat and plant-based protein hybrids. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research fellow, you will lead projects to optimise microalgae cultivation processes and apply bio-physical techniques to improve nutritional and organoleptic properties. Appointments will be initially made on a 1-year contract, renewable for up to 5 years.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research activities in accordance with the Centre objectives involving but not limited to:
i. Conversion of industrial food side-streams into media suitable for microalgae cultivation.
ii. Microalgae cultivations in flask and benchtop bioreactors under batch, fed batch, or continuous modes.
iii. Conduct chromatographic, spectroscopic, and fluorescent analyses to monitor microalgae growth.
iv. Monitor the success of bio-physical techniques via in vitro digestibility studies, chromatography, and advanced microscopic analyses.
v. Assist in scaling up cultivations to pilot scale setting.
- Conceptualise new ideas, plan, and drive the overall direction of projects.
- Independently execute experiments, analyse data, and interpret results in a systematic and logical manner.

• External Communications: You will be an advocate of our GetGo narratives and work with our Campaign team to develop communications plan for campaigns and initiatives, including working with respective channel owners to recommend and review contents across all touch points, to ensure that they are coherent, impactful, and drives positive audience engagement and perception of our brand.

Who We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Marketing, or a closely related field

Responsibilities

• Manage IT infrastructure (including SDWAN and cybersecurity solutions), servers (including VM) and backup solutions (on-premises and cloud)
• Manage various IT assets including user PC, Retail POS and peripherals, printers (including barcode printers), electronic shelf labels, digital signage, mobile phones and tablets etc.
• Manage various SAAS solutions including Microsoft 365

• Assist in developing and implementing IT policies, protocols, procedures, solutions, and best practices including incident reporting on containment and remediation.
• Be part of project management team on IT initiatives (including system updates and migrations) starting from managing timelines, requirements gathering, specifications, sourcing of solutions, evaluation of solutions, managing implementation process including UAT, user training and system documentation.

Prerequisites

• Minimum 3 years work experience in IT support, systems administration, or network management, experience in setting up or maintaining basic infrastructure (networking, server setups) is a plus.

The Regional Medical Lead (RML) will be a cross-portfolio lead in the dedicated Region as per business needs. The RML will enable delivery of medical affairs plans based on understandings on multi-dimensional environments and global strategies and supports external engagements/ presentations, data gap analysis and oversight of evidence generation activities across Local Operating Companies (LOCs). They are also an internal ambassador for the region, interfacing with the central product leads.

• Accountable for supporting and implementing external engagement for the area in collaboration with Key Stakeholders, in partnership with the Global Medical Affairs Lead (GMAL), LOC Medical Leads, Medical Science Liaison (MSL) leads
• Partners with the Vaccines Marketing Lead (VML) and senior stakeholders in the region to optimize launches/ access to medicines in all LOCs in the assigned geography - by ensuring high quality medical input to regulatory and commercial strategies and enhancing local medical affairs tactical plans.
• Drives the implementation of brand global medical affairs strategies within the assigned geography. Brings cross-portfolio expertise and deep understanding of customer needs in the assigned geography.
• Liaises with technical experts in central R&D (e.g., GHO, Epi) and aligning with regional experts (e.g., SAPH, Epi, HE, GA) as required.
• Collaborates with Therapy Area Medical Leads in other geographies to share best practices, identify and resolve common issues, and strengthen customer insights for the portfolio.
• Builds high performing medical networks across the assigned LOCs in collaboration with the Regional VP, Cluster Medical Leads, and LOC Medical Directors.
• Ability to be flexible to meet the changing needs and priorities of the assigned Region.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Regional VP (of Vaccines – Medical and Clinical) in driving the development, implementation, and execution of Business Plans at the area level.
• Supports external engagement for the area in collaboration with Key Stakeholders, in partnership with the GMAL, LOC Medical Leads, MSL leads and SAPHs.
• Engages with government officials and reimbursement bodies in collaboration with Government Affairs to understand their needs regarding our products to contribute to public health planning and to respond to specific information requests.
• Works closely with commercial colleagues to optimize launches/ access to vaccines in all Intercontinental LOCs - by ensuring high quality medical input to regulatory and commercial strategies and enhancing local medical affairs tactical plans.
• Brings cross-portfolio expertise, maintains knowledge of GSK product data and literature relevant to the portfolio of vaccines and has a deep understanding of customer needs in region Intercontinental.
• Supports the Regional VP by reviewing LOC prioritized GSK-sponsored and Investigator Sponsored Study (ISS) proposals to assess their scientific merit and strategic need.
• Liaises with technical experts (e.g. Health Economics, Epidemiology) and other regional experts as required.
• Helps the development and delivery of internal training to GSK Regional/Area/LOC medical teams and for commercial teams as appropriate, under the supervision of the Intercontinental Head of Vaccines.
• Fully understand and meet the requirements of all GSK policies (including Standards for Scientific Engagement, External Interactions by Medical and R&D Staff, GSK Code of Practice for Promotion and Customer Interactions), SOPs and external regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

• Medical degree with board certification.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in medical affairs and clinical development, including product launch experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in drug development, safety, regulatory affairs, market access, and reimbursement in GCI markets.
