Job Description
Please note as this post is part time, your salary will be pro rata to hours worked.
You will be part of a small team providing a comprehensive range of Payroll functions to ensure smooth operation and processing of Council staff pay. The service also currently provides a payroll service to The Central Scotland Valuation Joint Board.
The primary function of the post is to process wages, salaries, expenses, overtime, sickness, tax codes, pension and various other deductions in accordance with statutory requirements and conditions of Service and to ensure all rules are applied correctly and in uniform manner.
The main purpose is to ensure the provision of a high quality payroll service that represents best practice and complies with all legal and accounting requirements, financial reporting standards, and Council objectives.
This is a key post within HR Services to ensure that all employees are paid properly and timeously, and that all external obligations are met within statutory and other timescales.
The fulfilment of these tasks in a professional manner will be critical if these objectives are to be achieved.
