To work as part of the Multi-professional team providing a high standard ofantenatal, intrapartum and postnatal midwifery care to women and their families within the integrated maternity service. To rotate within all clinical areas within maternity services to support professional development and maintain safe standards of midwifery care in line with service provision. Main duties Provide a high standard of midwifery care to mothers and babies during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period. The SCF will attend the daily general surgical hand-over meeting from 7:30 to 8:00 am. The SCF will share with the SpRs the responsibility to lead a full daily ward round along with the rest of the team team. The complexity of these patients often requires experience, knowledge, ability for clinical decision making and ability to liaise with all members of the MDM for co- ordination of care. The SCF will be responsible to operate either with or without supervision on appropriately allocated patients on an elective or emergency basis. The SCF will be expected to cooperate with, instruct, teach and supervise other doctors of the Firm at SpR, JCF, SHO, F1/F2 level in their clinical work and audit activity of the unit.
