This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM),Gulf of Mexico OCS Region (GOMR), Resource Evaluation (RE), Resource Studies Section in Jefferson, LA.

At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position may include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Responsible for providing work assignments to unit professionals spreading the assignments in a fair and equitable manner. Identifies unit project objectives and oversees project plans and performance measures to ensure tasks are completed timely and meet BOEM Strategic Plans and Mission objectives.
2. Ensures timely performance of work of a satisfactory amount and quality, as well as reviewing, accepting, amending, or rejecting the work performed.
3. The employee conducts human capital management responsibilities (such as staffing and recruitment, employee development, performance management, and employee conduct) consistent with the Merit Systems Principles, and other relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines. The employee assigns work in a fair and effective manner that ensures that direct reports maintain a full workload with a complexity commensurate with their grade levels.
4. The incumbent supervises the analysis and interpretation of geological, geophysical, petrophysical and engineering data that often have significant impact on science priorities for the Bureau/Office and/or Department. Responsibilities may involve, but are not limited to:
5. Supervises and leads the systematic preparation of detailed geologic and stratigraphic interpretation, maps and cross sections for each of the fields and lease discoveries. Interpretation includes analysis of geophysical and well data resulting in the preparation of seismic stratigraphic and systems tract interpretations, salt tectonics, well log analysis, and other exploration studies to determine the stratigraphic relationships and depositional environments of prospective reservoirs.
6. Supervises the performance of field and reservoir analyses conducted by classical engineering methods to ensure the reserve adequacy of reservoirs and fields. The Supervisor ensures that every reservoir and field within his/her area of responsibility is properly classified based on the alignment to the industry standard of AAPG/SPE/WPC Petroleum Resources Management System.
7. Oversees the implementation of a Carbon Sequestration and Storage (CCS) program in the Office of Resource Evaluation; conducts systematic reviews of carbon storage units including storage assessment, site characterization, CO2 plume modeling and monitoring, and determination of plume stability.
8. Supervises Worst Case Discharge (WCD) verification workload responsibilities including initiating, reviewing, and approving the validity of the assumptions, analogs, and calculations associated with the verification of the WCD submitted by operators for Exploration Plans (30 CFR 250.219(a)(2)(iv)), Development Plans (30 CFR 250.250(a)(2)(iv)) and Oil Spill Response Plans (30 CFR 254.47). Makes assignments of WCD projects and ensures consistency of the verifications.

Major Duties

• The incumbent assists the C&P Manager/Analyst in developing short- and long-term goals necessary to accomplish the mission of the C&P program.
• Assists in identifying the resources necessary for accomplishing the mission and function of the credentials and privileging program. Serves as SME in the field of credentials and clinical privileging.
• Keeps leadership and appropriate administrative staff informed of program changes, new regulatory requirements, and policies and procedures pertaining to the C&P process.
• Assists C&P Manager/Analyst in drafting local credentialing processes and Medical Staff Bylaws in compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Receives and reviews correspondence and communications for the C&P function and determines which items require immediate attention and which are confidential in nature.

• Ensures accurate provider data is entered into and maintained in the VetPro computer program.
• Ensures current information is present on providers relative to state licensure, Drug Enforcement Organization (DEA) license, National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) Continuous Query (CQ) enrollments and renewals, Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), documentation of professional education, specialty medical training, certifications, adverse licensure or privileging actions, initial and renewal of privileges which may affect the status of privileges granted for medical practice.
• Informs C&P Manager/Analyst of trends identified, audit results and identified problems that may affect a provider's privilege status.
• Manages provider applications (initial and renewals) for LIPs C&P within the VAMC.
• Incumbent must have a broad knowledge of medical specialties and core privileges and is the technical advisor to clinical leadership for the development of department specific privileges and assures that complete documentation is available to support privileges granted to providers within their training and/or experience.

ELECTRICAL - Troubleshoots repair and replaces switches, fuses, outlets, motors, light fixtures, building service equipment, streetlights, operational controls, and wiring systems (up to 480-volt single and three-phase systems). Assists in installation/renovation projects and equipment installation of replacement projects.

Physical Requirements: Occasionally lifts heavy loads, machinery parts, etc., be able to climb/descent ladders and scaffolds.
