About the role

Balfour Beatty has an amazing opportunity for a Construction Manager (Senior Package Manager) to join our outstanding Major Projects team to work at our iconic Old Oak Common development in London.

HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.

Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide highspeed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.

As a Construction Manager (Senior Package Manager), you will act as Deputy to the Package Lead for Urban Realm packages and leading various aspects of a portfolio of subcontracts, including external works, earthworks, utilities, civils, landscape, roads and tower crane site-wide services.

In this role, you will support construction and design interfaces, drive value engineering, validate construction sequences/methodologies, and all-around management of subcontractors’ performance & deliverables in line with project requirements.

- Meeting deadlines for children’s records and assessments with motivation and drive.
- Conducting accurate assessments reflecting children's needs and development stages through a key person approach.
- Holding regular meetings with families and professionals to support children's development and assist colleagues as needed.
- Attending staff meetings and training for ongoing professional development.
Essential Experience:
•Work experience within the Early Years Sector
•Experience as a key person
•Knowledge of the early year’s curriculum and regulatory requirement.
•Proven ability to work as part of team to ensure essential day to day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands i.e. Hygiene standards and room preparation.
•Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding children.
•Specific Experience of working within the 0-5 years age group in accordance with the regulatory requirements if required
•Desire and passion for ongoing learning and personal development
Desirable Experience:
•Knowledge of Local Authority and Regulatory requirements and inspection processes across the UK
•Working within policies, procedures, and regulatory requirement.
Qualifications:
• Relevant Childcare Qualification
•12 hours paediatric first aid
•Food Hygiene or equivalent training and compliance in food management
•Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly (essential)
