Provides USPFO, DCSLOG/G4, Command Staff, unit/activity commanders, with factual, objective assessments of the unit's ability to conduct unit logistics operations and account for federal property. Analyzes, evaluates, validates, and identifies ways to improve the mission, function, and activities of the organization. Provides USPFO, DCSLOG/G4, Command Staff, unit/activity commanders, with information needed for effective direction of programs to include reports identifying limiting factors, program management opportunities, and availability of equipment on hand.

(6) Advises the USPFO, DCSLOG/G4, Command Staff, unit/activity commanders, activity managers on the evaluation of basic program policies, regulatory requirements, and follow-up procedures regarding applicable completed evaluation. Recommend corrective action to re-establish and ensure unit/activity compliance, with applicable logistics and physical security regulations and directives, with a specified suspense date.

(7) Develops processes, management, administrative, and technical evaluation plans for implementation by supervisors/managers. Notes deficiencies, identifies necessary resources, and recommends corrective action. Reviews workload requirements to ascertain areas where procedures can be combined, distributed, or simplified to increase productivity, efficiency, or effectiveness and is able to utilize centralized planning and decentralized execution of mission objectives.

• Serves as the lead Ethics Counselor for Army Materiel Command Headquarters (HQAMC), a four-star Army Command.
• Manages the AMC Ethics Program on behalf of the AMC Command Counsel.
• Provides ethical legal support to HQAMC and its supported units and organizations, including top ranking officials, including General Officers, and members of the Senior Executive Service (SES).

(1) Performs overhaul, maintenance, and repair on a variety of small arms that involve numerous parts, subassemblies, adjustments, and must be adjusted to close tolerances. Diagnoses and identifies mechanical deficiencies and/or malfunctions in weapons, such as, automatic pistols, revolvers, shotguns, automatic rifles, grenade launchers, machine guns, rocket launchers, mortars, and other small arms and accessories.

(2) Disassembles weapons, assemblies, subassemblies and other components. After disassembly examines for defects, mechanical misalignment, and malfunctions. Replaces barrels, firing pins, springs, trigger mechanisms, shell ejectors, sights, safety devices, bolts, stocks and other parts and assemblies. Modifies small weapons by replacing obsolete parts. Applies finishing agents and test fires and/or performs operational checks of arms repaired to ensure safety, accuracy, and ease of operation. Applies modification work orders as required.

(3) Uses hand and power tools, precision gauges, test instruments, jigs and alignment devices in making repairs, modifications, and adjustments to small arms.

(4) Ensures the accountability, storage, and security of arms and other sensitive items while they are kept for repair, usually in vaults with limited access.

(5) May serve as a commodity inspector during Command Maintenance Management evaluations (COMET) or as a member of a Maintenance Assistance Instruction Team (MAIT).

(1) Responsible for the accurate interpretation of numerous manufacturer drawings, specifications, operating instructions, and test procedures, to troubleshoot, calibrate, align and repair a variety of highly complex pieces of powered support equipment. This includes identifying, repairing or replacing numerous electronic (both digital and analog) components. It also includes the repair of composite materials and state of the art gas compressor turbines and electronically controlled engines. Troubleshoots, repairs, adjusts and aligns down sized powered support equipment. Uses a variety of sophisticated testers, such as analyzers, digital meters, oscilloscopes and other measuring devices to determine repair requirements. Corrects unusual maintenance problems, by interpreting a variety of technical data such as tables, charts, formulas, color codes, wiring diagrams, and schematic symbols. Does circuit analyses, considers integrated circuit relationships, and applies electronic principles in order to fault-isolate and repair the various digital devices contained in highly complex powered support equipment.

(2) Performs inspections, preventive maintenance, servicing, repair, and adjustments on complex rotary diesel engines.

(3) Must independently determine work sequences, specifications, and special procedures to be used to fault-isolate and repair unusual problems in various pieces of powered support equipment. Conducts classes to train maintenance personnel in operations, test procedures, and troubleshooting requirements of highly complex powered support equipment.

(4) Performs intermediate-level maintenance on powered support equipment and non-powered AGE. This includes working on cryogenic equipment, engine and generator changes, removing, repairing, and overhauling of accessories, and rebuilding of units. Engine rebuilding such as removal and replacement of crankshafts, pistons, and other integral parts. Replaces, checks and adjusts valves, bearings, cams, clutches, bushings, springs, armatures, pushrods, exhaust manifolds, tubing, hose and defective wiring. Diagnoses gas turbine malfunctions, using visual and auditory senses, test equipment and applicable technical publications; makes repairs, removes, disassembles and assembles components and sub-systems.

(5) Troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, modifies and operates aerospace ground equipment such as AC and DC power generators, various types of internal combustion engines, air compressors, blowers, hydraulic test stands, cabin leakage testers, portable diesel engine driven generators, emergency lighting units, de-icers, heaters, load banks, hydrostatic testers, cryogenic carts, decontamination units, thermal bath, vacuum pumps, flow meters, lavatory service trailers, air conditioners and various pieces of non-powered AGE. Performs required TCTOs and other modifications on powered support equipment. Performs corrosion control duties such as inspection, cleaning, stripping, sanding, priming and painting of AGE. Performs inspections, calibration and repair on test and shop equipment.

(6) Performs maintenance data collection, and prepares other required forms. Maintains Technical Orders, Technical Order Files, commercial technical publications and other directives pertinent to the section. Submits Technical Order Improvement Reports, Material Deficiency Reports and suggestions when required. Ensures that all waste products are properly disposed of and the effective waste minimization processes are used.

(7) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluation such as ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operator, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies.(8) Participates and assists in conducting the necessary safety program for the Aerospace Ground Equipment activity.

1. Monitors, maintains, and recommends optimum voice and data network systems configuration and architecture, to include administering and programming the system's messaging, broadcasting, automated attendants, load capacity, call restrictions, and classes of services. Performs all software upgrades and troubleshooting of the operating system and switch hardware using appropriate software solutions or diagnostic equipment. Installs, configures and programs networking equipment to include routers, network encryption devices, switches, channel switch units (CSU), digital switch units (DSU) and multiplexers using military and commercial protocols such as Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Routing Interchange Protocol (RIP), and Point to Point Protocol (PPP). Programs and uses remote management tools to administer and operate active networks. Evaluates and recommends commercial of-the-shelf software (COTS) solutions for all telecommunications requirements.

4. Coordinates with outside agencies and customers to provide required services and technical solutions. Responsibilities involve direct customer support including recommending new equipment, site surveys, training, resolving problems related to configuration management, systems functionality, hardware and software configuration, and system conflict resolution. This position serves as the Assistant Regional Inspector General for Audit Services Region IV.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Serving as a Supervisory Auditor (Audit Manager) and is responsible for the conduct of comprehensive audits of Departmental programs, such as those managed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
• Planning, directing and coordinating the audit segment of the IG annual work plan within the region.
• Providing line management for the provision of audit services for assigned management and program activities of the Department within the geographic area. The incumbent also plans and coordinates audits of programs and contracts funded by other Federal departments and agencies.
• Serving as a contact point for advice and assistance on audit matters including programs of other Federal departments and agencies where HHS has audit cognizance.

Configures, manages, monitors, and trouble-shoots various network and application server hardware, operating system software, and peripheral network equipment for both classified and unclassified networks. Conducts testing using remote management terminals to insure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards. Recommends system configuration policies. (4.) Performs in-depth analysis of automated and manual systems related to proposals for change, in order to develop or modify information systems to meet tactical network user requirements. Determines applicability of established methods. Using customer input, gathers facts about the nature of the work involved in the user's application area, flow of work, processing actions, and work product(s). Provides technical advice to users. Examines and evaluates alternative means of satisfying user requirements. Suggests technically feasible approaches and makes recommendations regarding the most effective and efficient automation approaches.
