The Center for Computational Toxicology and Exposure, headquartered in Durham, NC, is a scientific organization responsible for carrying out EPA’s mission to support public health and environmental decisions by providing solutions-driven research to rapidly evaluate the potential human health and environmental risks associated with exposure to environmental stressors and to ensure the integrity of the freshwater environment and its capacity to support human well-being. To accomplish its mission, CCTE conducts fundamental and applied research across a range of disciplines important for evaluating chemical safety and freshwater coastal ecology.

For human health, CCTE provides scientific leadership for New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and innovative in vivo models to evaluate human health hazards as well as computational and advanced analytical chemistry approaches for characterizing exposure. The Center’s research integrates advances in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, statistics, and computer modeling to advance chemical safety. CCTE scientists support ORD’s mission by informing solutions to complex environmental problems by generating data and developing methods, models, and tools used for problem formulation and scoping, to analyze human health risks, and to ensure continuous progress toward intended outcomes.

The Director for the Biomolecular and Computational Toxicology Division position will require an individual with experience in NAMs to evaluate human health hazards as well as a broad range of methods and technologies for characterizing chemical impacts on biological systems. The Division Director will require an understanding in the areas of toxicology, risk assessment, molecular and cellular biology, computational modeling, and bioinformatics, which are critical fields for expanding the tools to understand the impact of chemical exposure to human health.

2. - Has direct oversight of multiple Tele-Primary Care, Specialty Care Telehealth, virtual care modalities including but not limited to clinical Video Telehealth (CVT), Video Conferencing, VA Video Connect (VVC), My HealtheVet (MHV), Home Telehealth (HT) and other telehealth applications and virtual network clinics, virtual communications modalities, programs, and sites of care.
3. - Ensures Home Telehealth applies care and case management principles to coordinate care using health informatics, disease management and technologies such as in home and mobile monitoring, messaging, and/or video technologies.
4. - Develops policies, procedures, and protocols to include technical support and equipment management guidance for the array of modalities employed by all the facility's virtual care and telehealth programs utilizing appropriate workload reporting and data management systems.
5. - Works with the Business Manager to provide appropriate activity and clinic coding for all virtual and specialty sites and the virtual care network programs as appropriate for workload tracking and reporting.
6. - Executes leadership that is characterized by continuous and substantial responsibilities that demonstrate experience and creative approaches to management of complex patient care for groups of patients via multiple telehealth technologies.
7. - Gives attention to providing care in the least restrictive, most cost-effective manner through use of clinical practice guidelines and clinical pathways.
8. - Provides evidence of health promotion and chronic disease indices are monitored through the clinical practice guidelines and performance measures.
9. - Has programmatic responsibility for the VA staff, services, and/or processes with the many specified specific areas of assignment.
10. - Has a direct relationship with established Network and facility positions to directly influence organizational mission and health care such as but not limited to: facility and VISN Primary Care Clinicians, Psychiatrists, Psychologist, Pharmacists, Care Coordinators, Facility Telehealth Coordinators, Facility IT Staff, MIS, Facility Service Chiefs and Administrative Officers, VISN and National Quality Managers, and Quality Management Staff, National Telehealth Training Centers, Facility and VISN Health Information Specialists, National VHA Telehealth Services Staff, Facility Directors, Chiefs of Staff, and Credentialing Coordinators, and others described/required by the VISN.
11. - Functions as administrator, educator, clinical and technical consultant utilizing management theory.
12. - Provides high level support, training, and advanced management of telehealth operations across the enterprise with duties that may require travel.
13. - Activities are governed in accordance with relevant VHA, VISN and facility regulations, standards, and guidance including the telehealth operations manuals, guidelines, and specialty supplements; activities shall be consistent with national, VISN, and facility level policies and procedures and support national VISN, and facility strategic goals.
14. - Integrates nursing science, information science, and technologies to maintain and develop medical data and systems to promote Veteran care that is safe, efficient, effective, timely, Veteran-centric, and equitable.
15. - Provides executive leadership, clinical practice guidelines, and direct supervision to the Nurse Managers/Supervisors over the facility Telehealth, Home Telehealth Programs, MyHealtheVet and Dialysis Clinics.
16. - Assess, plans, and evaluates the processes and daily operations of the assigned programs.
17. Ensures competency assessment is completed on each nursing employee annually.

• Serves as a Child and Youth Services (CYS) Assistant Director of a CYS Program with responsibility for assisting the supervisor in the operation of an assigned CYS program IAW all applicable regulations and standards.
• Provides program oversight and accountability for the performance of assigned staff and the safety and well being of children and youth IAW DoD, Army and local policies and standards.
• Assists in maintaining DoD/Army certification for assigned program areas, and helps ensure program achieves and retains national accreditation or Army equivalent and maintains accreditation/Army equivalent standards.
• Provides appropriate staff professional recognition and/or disciplinary action. Conducts written observations of staff during all hours of operation, and evaluates employees based on established performance standards.

Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Fire Protection Flight. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and Civil Engineering objectives. Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the flight, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. Plans work for accomplishment by subordinate units, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules based on consideration of difficulty of requirements and assignments such that the experience, training, and abilities of the staff are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs. Provides subordinate supervisors and staff with direction and advice regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines. Balances workload and provides overall direction and vision to the subordinate unit chiefs on a wide range of fire protection, prevention, crash rescue, and administrative issues.
