As a Supervisory Interdisciplinary Biologist/Chemist (Chief Branch of Aquatic Ecosystem Health) within the Upper Midwest Environmental Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:

• Serves as the Chief, Branch of Aquatic Ecosystem Health (AEH), and is directly responsible for budget formulation and execution of a ~$5 M research program funded through USGS appropriations and reimbursable funding agreements with local, state, and federal agencies and non-governmental entities.
• Exercises a broad range of technical and administrative supervisory authorities and responsibilities over four or more employees within the AEH Branch, including determining appropriate staffing levels and pathways (e.g., federal permanent, term or temporary, student, contract) and identifying training requirements.
• Tracks and documents review and approval of study plans and information products (e.g., manuscripts, reports, abstracts, presentations, data) prepared by AEH scientists in accordance with UMESC and USGS policies (e.g., USGS Fundamental Science Practices [FSPJ), provides Center-approval when serving as Acting Center Director.
• Exercises significant responsibility coordinating work with other branches, Centers, USGS mission areas, Federal and State resource management and regulatory agencies, and university scientists. Advises Center Director and other agency management officials of research progress and findings as they pertain to their jurisdictional area of responsibility.
• Operates a government vehicle as an incidental driver.

As a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC (SMALL SHOP CHIEF), WG-2604-12, duties include:

-- Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which, is then completed, by the incumbent and lower graded mechanic(s). Determines approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures. Estimates time, equipment and material requirements. Devises and maintains plans and records. Provides recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, and leave.

-- Performs the full range of shop work.

-- Performs in-process, final inspection, and clear status symbols certifying work performed by others in shop.

-- Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.

-- Prepares for, and participates in, various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs additional duties such as structural firefighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance of facilities and equipment. Serves as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies.

-- Performs other duties as assigned.

The VA Section Chief in the Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) will lead the GIM Section at Zablocki VA Medical Center, including GIM Faculty Primary Care Clinics, Internal Medicine Residents' Clinics, and Inpatient Medicine Wards Teams. The Section Chief will also maintain a strong and collaborative relationship with the Division of General Internal Medicine and the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). The Section Chief must be an excellent clinician who possesses strong leadership and organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex environment while maintaining collaboration with an academic health system. The VA Section Chief will have an MD or DO degree with prior leadership experience and an established career in clinical practice. The VA Section Chief will be defined as faculty member in the General Internal Medicine Division of the Department of Medicine and must be ABIM certified in Internal Medicine and be eligible for faculty appointment at MCW. Faculty rank will be determined based on experience and accomplishments.

Job Overview

The Office of Administration – situated in the Office of Advancement - is the central intake for all philanthropic commitments made to Georgetown University. Its team is responsible for the intake and recording of philanthropic gifts, payments, and pledges to the University, and is a lead strategic partner in operations pertaining to managing donor commitments, including issuing charitable gift tax receipts and pledge reminders, and lending expertise to the efficient and accurate operations that support the various vehicles and methods for giving to Georgetown University.

The Senior Director of Gift Administration provides strategic leadership and oversight of all operations, including most notably, gift processing, gift accounting, and gift compliance:

• Gift Processing: The Senior Director manages and partners with the Director of Gift Processing and Analytics, who oversees a highly skilled team and an industry-leading processing operation that manages the efficient and accurate recording of tens of thousands of batches and gift transactions annually.
• Gift Accounting: The Senior Director manages and partners with the Director of Gift Accounting, who oversees the partnership and hands-on operations that interface most closely with University colleagues and donors, including pledge reminders, gift receipts, financial journals and reconciliations, donor-facing email and phone communications, and gift deposits.

Director of Financial Systems and Processes - University Information Services - Georgetown University

Job Overview

The Director of Financial Systems and Processes, in a senior-level position within the University Information Services, provides technical stewardship and strategic leadership for the operations of the University’s core Workday Financials system and technical services - including all configurations, reporting, data security, and system integrations services in Workday Financials, the University’s system of record.

The Director manages the technical and functional resources in each business area: Financial Accounting (GL), Endowment Accounting, Revenue Management, Budgeting, Assets, Expenses, Projects, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Pre-Award and Post-Award Grants Management; and serves as the primary liaison with the Finance system users. As well, they provide the day-to-day oversight of the configuration, development and maintenance of the Workday Financials system and all integrations to other systems, and implement new functionality as delivered by Workday and in response to university requirements.

The Director plays a crucial role in aligning business processes and administrative systems with the missions of the university, and partners with the business owners across the University to maintain, improve and identify system and process improvements for the financial system, reports and processes. It is essential that the Director understands the future strategy and objectives of the business owners, enabling the development of optimal systems and processes necessary to achieve those goals.

As a leader of the financial systems and processes, the Director has the overall accountability for the strategy, operations, acquisition, contracting, system upgrades, project deliveries, optimization efforts, analytics/reporting, vendor management, and ongoing application support. Their work includes collaborating with vendors and peer institutions as appropriate, as well as developing and deploying the requirements-to-production processes, quality assurance, software release management, and documentation of applications and processes.

The Director oversees the communication and the training program related to Workday Financials functionality; and establishes audit and risk management practices, change management, project management and business continuity planning.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the AVP for ERP Systems, the Director has 5-7 direct reports.  They drive efforts to develop and execute strategic plans to transform and evolve the portfolio of Finance applications and technology platforms to anticipate and meet future customer and university needs.

They collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that the technology services and operations meet the demands of the University community; gets buy-in for projects, priorities, and goals;  provides strategic direction; and serves as an executive sponsor to mature data governance practices across the university.

Our cardiologists are hired through Corewell Health Medical group, and have an academic  appointment with Michigan State University School of Human Medicine. University rank, research time and leadership opportunities are based on qualifications and experience.

• An exceptional transition program provides continuity of care as patients age out of the pediatric space and into the adult.

• On-site facilities include cardiac catheterization, 3-D and 4D echo, advanced visualization, CMR and CT.

• Clinical inpatient and outpatient services are well supported by advanced practice providers, skilled sonographers, cardiovascular techs, nurses, and dedicated pediatric dietician, psychologist and  social worker.

• Teaching opportunities (medical students, pediatric residents and cardiology fellows)

• As the Clinical academic partner of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, academic appointments, teaching, and support for clinical research are available

Basic Qualifications:

• MD/DO, Pediatric Cardiologist with training in Advanced Cardiology Training

• Licenses - Medical License in State of MI

• Federal Narcotics License from the State of Michigan

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required by if specialty or stress test performed

Accountable for developing and achieving population health tactics and targets for the ACO, CIN, and other risk-based programs. In collaboration with clinical service lines, oversees transformation of clinical practice to achieve optimal outcomes and cost reduction for value work within the continuum of care (inpatient, outpatient, prevention, and wellness).

Develops understanding of broad health landscape, determining key drivers and opportunities for innovative models targeting the Quadruple Aim. Uses qualitative and quantitative data to develop understanding of health needs and the attributes of the populations services to drive development of programs.

Lead quality initiatives. Monitor and assess key performance metrics, including patient experience, outcomes, cost and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions

• In a collaborative relationship with leadership, the Medical Director assumes accountability for the delivery of quality services through consistent development, revision, implementation and interpretation of procedures, protocols, and standards of care effecting patients.

In a collaborative relationship with leadership, the Medical Director maintains accountability for the development of capital and operational budgets for the service. Monitors, evaluates, and advocates for appropriate utilization of resources within the service.
