Serves as a Operations Manager (OM) in a Large TRACON, responsible for planning and directing operations. The incumbent may be requested to provide direct support to the Air Traffic Manager. In the terminal option, the OM provides first-line supervision to assigned Operation Supervisors (OS) and Traffic Management Coordinators (TMC), if applicable. The OM provides second-line supervision to Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS). The OM is responsible for operational services of the facility including traffic management initiatives. Provides training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building throughout his/her area(s) of responsibility. Integrates support resources with operational needs to maintain effective ATC service, and may work other than administrative shifts to meet this requirement. As a Base Services Manager, GS-0301-11, you will evaluate, plan, organize, and direct Base Services functions in support of federal, state, and local missions. The incumbent serves as supervisor and primary point-of-contact for Services-related programs, missions, functions, activities, and events for the wing and its assigned Geographically Separated Units (GSU).

• Utilize all available resources to maintain progress and ensure safe, high quality, and timely completion of construction projects.
• Investigate the need for contract change orders including consultations with the designer for design changes.
• Receive and check for contract compliance of technical submittals from the contractor such as shop drawings.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, designers, Quality Assurance and District personnel in order to determine appropriate changes necessary to the contracts.
• Coordinate office and field engineering construction, and inspection activities through a staff of engineering and/or technical employees.
• May establish performance standards and make evaluations if designated by the Resident Engineer.

• Assure that all construction is accomplished in accordance with proper quality control and assurance procedures.

• Ensure review of safety precautions exercised by contractors and suggest remedial measurements as required.
• Request proposals, estimates, and negotiates with contractors to make recommendations to the Contracting Officer and Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO).
• Coordinate Architect-Engineer review of technical submittals where such contracts exist.
• Discuss details of construction with contractor personnel, recommend changes to the contracts, and coordinate the authorizations with the ACO.
• Advise others in the performance of actions for resolving change orders, claims, differing site conditions, contract delays, and value engineering change proposals.

As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC LEADER, WL-8852-10, you will:

• Monitors the work of assigned personnel, sets the pace, passes along assignments, and assures that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available.
• Works along with aircraft mechanics and specialist personnel performing journeyman work as required. Perform readiness evaluations, inspections, and command support exercises
• Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g., additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees).
