At Dungeness B Power Station, we’re working on the transition from defueling to decommissioning of our site. This is a pivotal time to join us, where you can make a real impact on the success of our programmes of work as we continue through the lifecycle of our station.
The Opportunity
As Programme Manager, you’ll focus on the strategy, scope, budget and schedule of a range of projects, supporting a team of Project Managers and holding them accountable against our key programme deliverables. We’re looking for your extensive project management experience to support your success in this key role of leading, defining and overseeing the delivery of one of the key station decommissioning programmes.

The salary range associated with this role is £92,778

What you’ll be doing
Your key roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordination of numerous projects, managing different stakeholders and mitigating challenges
- Integrating the various projects and respective project managers to coordinate the cohesive implementation of programme planning
- Monitoring daily programme activities with reporting and analytics
- Working with other Programme and Project Managers to identify and overcome project risks or opportunities
- Ensuring that any control arrangements identified, as part of the implementation of Licence Conditions, are adhered to during the lifecycle of the project
- Liaising with colleagues around the fleet to discuss learning opportunities and operational experience.
Who you are
You’ll need to have at least a Level 4 qualification (HNC or equivalent) and it would be advantageous if you’re educated to degree level. Being a chartered engineer or equivalent professional qualification is preferred, but extensive project or programme management experience is essential. Demonstrable experience of managing programmes and projects throughout the full project lifecycle, ideally across a range of complex multi-discipline projects and environments is paramount. You should also have experience of managing an integrated project team including staff, agency and assigned functional support. You must be able to demonstrate experience of estimating, cost control, planning and commercial awareness including the preparation of business cases and sanction/ funding papers. Excellent stakeholder management skills and proven proposal-writing experience are also important.
You should be experienced in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as proficient in the use of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools and in the use of Earned Value tools. An analytical approach with high-level problem-solving ability is essential.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
