As our Deputy Manager, you will assist in managing operations within the home in order to reach or exceed goals while assuring the provision of high-quality care. You will be in charge of overseeing the care staff and will be expected to assume full management in the event that the Home Manager is not present.

Through direct instruction and by setting a good example, you will assist in training and supervising care staff in all facets of their work. You will help the Home Manager with pre-admission assessments of residents, ensure that each resident's care plan and daily records are kept up to date, and foster effective communication with the residents' families and other organisations.

This role could be for you if you have;

- Previous Deputy Home Manager experience.
- The ability to engage with the service users to understand their needs in order to provide excellent services of care.
- Good working knowledge of CQC standards.
- The ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with external care professionals, families, visitors and staffing team.
- Ability to promote ownership of care programs by fully involving service users and their families in developing, agreeing and evaluating care programs within the home.

Operational tasks

• Collaborating across the business to define and refine the learning development & early careers strategy, ensuring this is well aligned to the OCS organisational strategy.

• Building and evolving the overall leadership development offer, ensuring our leaders are equipped with the capabilities needed for now and in the future.
• Developing and implementing high impact learning programmes and development initiatives catering to all employee levels and skill requirements.
• Ensuring seamless delivery of programs and services / in person workshops.
• Ownership of the OCS Learning Management System (OCS Academy) and the digital learning experience for colleagues.
• Monitoring KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of learning initiatives, and making data driven improvements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in all learning and development activities.
• Leading the senior leadership succession planning approach and personal development plan initiatives for all colleagues.
• Overseeing the design and execution of early careers programmes including work experience placements, graduate schemes and working closely with the apprenticeship team towards achieving strategic objectives.
• Leading a team of Learning SMEs, ensuring resources are aligned to areas of strategic need (circa 4-5 colleagues)

Experience and Qualifications

• A track record of defining, designing and delivery in the L&D roles at senior management level.
• Good understanding of Talent Management processes, including succession planning, career development frameworks and internal mobility strategies.
• Passion for Diversity and Inclusion, understanding the importance of reflecting this in our learning offer.
• Commercial awareness, able to build relevant, accessible programmes relevant for the business.
• Innovative and change-driven, with a broad external network & knowledge of best external practise in other leading organisations.
• An expert relationship builder, able to build credible relationships with all levels of the organisation.
• Strong influencing, networking and collaboration skills.
• Strong understanding of Early Careers pathways.
• Understanding & experience of working an operational, service based business as well as a unionised environment is desirable but not essential.
• Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
• Detail focused and analytical, with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Comfortable operating in a divisional organisation and delivering through others as part of a shared vision.

Hours and Environment

National coverage / Itinerant.

Core working hours for this position are from 09:00 until 17:30, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility will be expected regarding hours of work to suit the needs of the business and team due to diverse nature of works undertaken.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for highly motivated and self-starting Commercial Managers to join our expanding Site Delivery team on Sizewell C, with experience in FIDIC, NEC 3&4 suite of contracts, major projects and/or Civil Engineering, as well as knowledge of UK law and its impact upon the contracts and commercial function.
As a Commercial Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Programme Delivery teams by providing the highest standards of Commercial Management.


The Role

- Ensuring all Principal Accountabilities for the contract commercial team are implemented in accordance with commercial procedures.
- Managing a key scope of work in the commercial management of contracts and claims across a suite of NEC and/or FIDIC based contracts.
- Overseeing contract commercial relationships.
- Reporting and providing support to a Senior Commercial Manager or Supply Chain Lead.
- Providing commercial management of contracts during the execution phase (post award) to maximise operational and financial performance and minimise commercial risk.
- Providing commercial management for the delivery of contract final account agreements (close­out). Commercial Managers must provide commercial support to the Project Manager in the effective delivery of the contract and ensure formal completion and closure of all the Project Contracts, identification and recording of commercial lessons Learnt.
- Responsible for the delivery of the contract in accordance with governance requirements; always operating in accordance with Integrated Management System (IMS) rules and procedures to ensure that contracts are administered within delegation of authority and the overall NNB governance/assurance regime.


The Skills

- You’ll also demonstrate a good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk, change and claim management.
- You’ll be able to work across multiple discipline teams to develop, implement, and operate commercial strategies and contractual agreements. You’ll have a big-picture view and be able to develop and execute innovative approaches to commercial delivery for the benefit of the project.
