There are two-day case units for providing day treatments in an ambulatory setting as well an Acute Oncology Service to provide care for those patients needing acute assessment and triage. In addition to our onsite units, SACT is provided in outreach locations as well as in partnership with a commercial company in patients homes. The outpatient clinics are provided in a number of locations across the trust including joint clinics with other specialties. Cancer Care provides a number of Oncologists, Haematologists and Specialist palliative Care Clinicians to the peripheral cancer units at Hampshire Hospitals, Salisbury, IOW and the Channel Islands Cancer Care also hosts the Trust wide Hospital Specialist Palliative Care and End of Life Care services.

This role is office based and involves raising purchase orders against Homecare prescriptions, receipting goods & processing invoices for payment through our JAC computer system. Other duties include looking after homecare provider statements & co-ordinating the daily emails & queries. What you’ll need to do the role:

- Experience in designing and deploying solutions which utilise Asset Management software systems, preferably the IBM Maximo Application Suite v8 or similar EAM product sets.
- Experience in working on major Government/Ministry of Defence (MOD) contracts and bids, including knowledge, and understanding of MOD specific standards such as the Joint Service Publications (JSPs) and the Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP).
- Understanding of Applications Architecture and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience in API design and specification
- Experience in developing test and migration strategy artefacts
- Degree in IT related discipline along with an understanding of modern IT infrastructure, applications and Cloud based technologies.

This appointment is for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Oncology, based at Southampton General Hospital. You will join the Cancer Care Group (Haematology, Oncology and Suppotive Care) and will participate in the urgent management of patients with haematological and oncological conditions admitted via the acute oncology unit.

The post is available for 12 months in the first instance. MRCP parts 1 and 2 are an essential requirement for this role.

You will spend the majority of their time assessing new admissions, training the nurse practitioners and providing oncology outreach to the wider hospital. There will be opportunities for you to develop other skills outside the acute oncology unit.

This post combines duties at a busy university hospital, district general hospital and ISTC and will provide the trainee with experience in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery including Dento-alveolar surgery, dental and maxillofacial trauma, facial deformity, oral cancer, skin cancer, salivary gland diseases, TMJ disorders, facial deformity / orthognathic surgery, oral mucosal pathology and facial pain.

There is a regular in house protected teaching programme in addition to the mandatory regional teaching programme. The trainee will undertake audits and will have ample opportunities to get involved in projects leading to presentations and publications. There are regular head and neck and facial deformity MDT's and joint clinics, which the trainee will have opportunities to attend.

Applications are invited for the post of senior fellow in paediatric surgery from individuals with experience and interest in paediatric surgery, urology or adult general surgery.

You will join a team of 8 surgical registrars, 10 consultant paediatric surgeons and urologists and 6 specialist nurses providing a large and busy specialist paediatric surgery service.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Duties include the inpatient and outpatient management of surgical and / or urological patients. There is a 1 in 8 emergency rota with cross cover for the other middle grade surgeons in the unit while on call. You will also be expected to participate in clinical audit, teaching and research.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Someone with experience in paediatric surgery, urology or adult general surgery, and a commitment to a career in paediatric surgery. You will need to work effectively as part of a multi-professional team, and bring a positive and enthusiastic approach to your work.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists).

Successful candidates will have an educational framework equivalent to training grade doctors, and there will be a named educational supervisor assigned at the start of the post. The opportunity for Continued Professional Development (CPD) is highly supported and encouraged by the Trust, with options available to take study leave. All licensed doctors must meet the GMC requirements for revalidation and there will be an annual appraisal to support this process.

Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)

Basic Salary - MT03 £43,923 Basic Salary - MT04 £55,329 Basic Salary – MT05 £63,152

Salary will be assessed based on experience and skills. Eligibility criteria for appointment to a Nodal Point 5;
• Have a minimum of 6 years of Specialty training

• Hold relevant higher specialty exam (e.g FRCP, FRCA, FRCS)
• A portfolio of evidence that demonstrates they meet the criteria for progression (in line with the Curriculum for the speciality similar to deanery trainee)

Travelling expenses will not be paid for attending interview
