Who we are
We are the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social work, social care and early years services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) publishes data and intelligence on the social service workforce. The SSSC is the Official Statistics producer for data on the sector’s workforce and is part of the UK sector skills council for social services, Skills for Care and Development (SfCD).
We protect the public by registering social work, social care and early years workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct, we can investigate and take action.
What you need to succeed
For both roles we are looking for someone with:
1. a degree in a relevant subject
2. proven experience in an analytical field using a range of methods to gain insight and intelligence from large volumes of data
3. an understanding of evaluation methods with the ability to interpret complex information, develop inferences and make recommendations.
4. strong communication and engagement skills who puts the customer first.
5. the ability to be naturally inquisitive, resourceful and work well both autonomously and collaboratively with teams.
6. well-developed influencing, organisational and problem-solving skills.
