Arthur Mellows Village College is looking for an Assistant SENCo to assist with the strategic leadership of the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The team is highly motivated and focused on enabling all students to achieve their very best outcomes.

HYDROTHERAPY (based at Eagle Wood, Peterborough but used by Milton Keynes residents) 1.44 To assist the physiotherapist with patient handling within the hydrotherapy pool. 1.45 To observe hydrotherapy residents for any warning signs and highlight any concerns to the physiotherapist. 1.46 To ensure residents take any emergency medication (such as inhalers and GTN sprays) to hydrotherapy sessions and are wearing waterproof dressings if required. 1.47 To be competent in, and regularly practice, hydrotherapy emergency evacuation procedures. 1.48 To check and record hydrotherapy pool chemistry, temperature and humidity levels on a daily basis and inform physiotherapist immediately if any measurements are outside of their limits. 1.49 To liaise with housekeeping, maintenance team and microbiology with regards to hydrotherapy pool management when required. 1.50 To report any incidents/ accidents to the appropriate members of staff and complete the necessary documentation. 1.51 To ensure a safe hydrotherapy environment including clear pool access (entrances and exits), removal of any standing water on the poolside and ensuring emergency equipment is working and readily available to use if required. 1.52 To ensure residents for hydrotherapy have showered before and after each session and encourage fluid replenishment.

ABOUT THE FOOD & BEVERAGE ROLE:Within your role as a Food & Beverage Assistant, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Some of your responsibilities will include:

Serving residents their meals, snacks & beverages
Replenish all snack stations
Clean up after all meals
Re-lay tables & cloths
Cleaning the dining/kitchen areas

ABOUT YOU:We want someone proactive, passionate and ambitious to support us to create the best person-centred environment for our residents and to connect us to our local community. You’ll be genuinely valued and empowered as an integral part of our team. You will have the following experience:

Excellent Customer service skills
Experience as a Food & Beverage Assistant or similar role
Good knowledge & experience in the food/restaurant Industry
Knowledge of COSHH & health & safety standards
Have a friendly & caring attitude
Able to engage well with the residents and their families
Understanding of people with Dementia
Able to work independently & as a team
