This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience, training and a formal qualification in applied psychology. The successful candidate will complete a funded 18 month Masters in Clinical Associate Psychology and end point assessment with the University of Plymouth or Nottingham Trent and will be employed by and complete a training placement with RDaSH NHS Trust.

During the apprenticeship phase, whilst undertaking the MSc programme, you will be remunerated at Band 5. Your MSc registration and course fees will be paid for you, so in return, once qualified and your apprenticeship has been successfully completed, we ask that you commit to RDaSH for at least a further two years, during which time we will remunerate you at a Band 6.

This opportunity has arisen within the Recover team for Older Adults in North Lincolnshire. The postholder will have the opportunity to train as a CAP, to prepare to work with adults of working age and older adults. This post is supported by a growing presence of psychology within the care group, supervised by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. There is an Assistant Director for Psychological Professionals committed to strengthening the psychology workforce in the Care Group.




As a Trainee Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP), your role will be split between undertaking the Masters programme and working in your allocated service, to develop the clinical skills and competencies essential to the role. Teaching will predominantly be facilitated online. Post holders may be required to travel locally to attend the training in small groups for some sessions.

Trainee CAPs will be supported to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours required to integrate psychotherapeutic models and to work in a person centred approach, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. The Masters programme is competency based, focusing on a range of clinical skills; including assessment, formulation, delivering evidence-based psychological interventions, service evaluation and research and runs for 18 months.

Applicants will have a minimum of a 2:1 Honours Degree in Psychology, or a 2:2 if they have a significant amount of experience to substantiate the application. An individual who has prior experience of being an Assistant Psychologist is essential. An individual with experience of working with older people is preferred but not essential.

Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust in partnership with the University of Southampton are delighted to invite applications for full-time Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Psychological Therapist posts at Britton House, Gillingham. This post is on the Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Serious Mental Health Problems (Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder or Personality Disorders) at the University of Southampton. Applications are particularly encouraged from people with an interest in and knowledge/experience of Cognitive Behavioural therapy. These seven posts will be based in various community services across Kent, serving both working-age and older adults. The post holders will provide formal psychological interventions using newly developed skills whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. Once the course requirements are met and the post holder has achieved provisional accreditation with the BABCP they will progress to a full-time qualified band 7 CBT Psychological Therapist role within the service they trained.

Applicant must have a core profession as outlined in the person specification. Evidence of this will be needed at the interview.

This is a transition and training role, which is a fixed-term contract. Once the course requirements are met and the post holder has achieved provisional accreditation with the BABCP they will progress to a full-time qualified band 7 CBT therapist role. The post holder will work with Working age adults or Older people Community Transformed mental health services in KMPT
• To attend to the training course requirements and undertake all of the below duties under the supervision of a clinical supervisor.
• Develop psychological formulations for individual patients that contribute towards the overall assessment of their care needs
• Collaboratively establish individual patient's goals toward recovery.
• Determine the suitability of specific psychological interventions, including group and individual modalities, based on the patient’s assessment/formulation
• Plan, deliver, and review individual and group psychological interventions for specific patients.
• With service user consent, to videotape clinical sessions for viewing in clinical supervision and for submission for course assignments.
• Identify gaps within and potential developments of the psychological therapy programme, reporting these to supervisory staff
• The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities
