All MWEOC staff have emergency assignments and are considered deployed in place. Exercises and activations are planned and unplanned, and may require long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
All MWEOC employees are: (1) required to use a government-issued electronic device (to include cellular phones); (2) subject to recall during emergency situations; and (3) required to perform work in locations both above and below ground.
What will I do in this position if hired?
In this position, you will as a Security Specialist (Access & Credentialing)is responsible for the operation of security functions within the Identification and Access office and controlling the visitor access and movement on the facility. Typical assignments include:
- Controlling, preparing, and issuing identification badges, cards, passes, and decals that allow access.
- Ensuring National Crime Information Center (NCIC) checks are performed and verifying clearance levels of employees and visitors through the use of security databases with knowledge of fingerprinting techniques to submit for processing of contractors and federal employees.
- Following standard operating procedures for proper packing, labeling, securing, and tracking of classified documents while maintaining a variety of files, control registers, and records.
- Assisting in the maintenance and troubleshooting of security databases to provide information and assistance to staff on personnel security polices and related matters.
This position requires the following conditions of employment to be met while encumbered:
- Maintain access and rights to assigned classified communications systems.
- Complete Derivative Classification training during in-processing and must recertify every two years.
- Maintain Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD)-12 Identity Management System (IDMS) function access and rights.
- Maintain Integrated Security Management System (ISMS) access and rights.
- Maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS) certifications and rights to query criminal history and citizenship of persons attempting MWEOC access.
- Ability to know, understand, and enforce Real ID Act - Title II.
