Serves as a Staff Support Specialist (MSS-1) at a Terminal facility. Responsible for tactical, strategic, and administrative support of multiple program areas such as training, quality control, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures, plans and programs, operational automation, military operations, special and security operations, safety management system, safety reporting and other areas of specialty identified collaboratively at the local level. The work requires a comprehensive knowledge of the ATC field and familiarization with the many integral components of the industry which comprise the National Airspace System. Specialists must have the ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis, evaluation and development of new methods, studies, approaches, and procedures. The Staff Support Specialist must be knowledgeable of agency wide programs, facility goals and objectives. Must be able to communicate clearly and tailor their message to the target audience. While not required, hardware/software experience is desirable. Some travel will be required. For the assigned Facility/Duty Location, performs daily functions of maintaining and or improving operational material and or resources within the assigned area(s) of specialty. Communicates intra / inter facility as well as among various lines of business and industry. Makes recommendations for new projects/studies, taking into account available resources and the accomplishment of facility goals and objectives. Applies expertise toward the completion of projects/studies and facility reports. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of equipment, facilities, and procedures. Conducts investigations, evaluations, and briefs facility personnel. Develops methods to improve customer service and the quality of support provided. Collaborates freely among facilities, provides feedback and consults with other Staff Support Specialists regardless of duty location. May perform duties outside of the facility commensurate with grade and experience. Depending upon facility structure, reports to an assigned MSS-2, 3 or 4, who provides administrative direction for facility assignments, in terms of broadly defined missions or functions within areas of specialties. The incumbent is responsible for planning, designing and completing work assignments independently. Results of the work are technically authoritative and are normally accepted without change. Work is evaluated in terms of results achieved and effectiveness in assigned program areas.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Possessing Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement is required for the position.
• Receiving work assignments and direction regarding work methods, procedures and schedules from either the Transportation Coordinator and/or the Mobility Manager.
• Operates a wheelchair lift and ramp, including the proper use of vehicle device restraint/lock down mechanisms to safely transport wheelchairs, motorized wheelchairs and scooters.
• Arriving at and departing from pickup and discharge points at scheduled times.
• Safely transport patients in a manner that minimizes disruption to personnel and ensure maximum comfort during travel, prevents shock, ensures freedom of breathing.
• Reading installation maps and judges road/traffic conditions to determine the shortest and safest route.
• Enforcing passenger safety and seatbelt use.
• Using multiple variations of Mobile Data Computer (MDC) in and out of the vehicles for assigned trips and duties daily.
• Loading and unloading patients and medical supplies.
• Performing operator maintenance such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles, and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation.
• Maintaining records and document actions, such as operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports.
• Using two-way radios (or other device) to maintain communications with dispatcher/supervisor on assignments and locations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Program Assistant serves as the resource person for intermediate level data analysis and administrative leadership and coordination in the development, implementation, evaluation, interpretation, revision, and when necessary, corrective actions for many applicable administrative functions, activities, operations and services for the Office of Chief of Staff.

Major duties include but are not limited to:

• Interacts with clinical leadership and their administrative staff in support of clinical committees and programs and tracks follow up actions and reporting materials that are directly under the Deputy Chief of Staff.
• Collects clinical program and patient care data via VISTA, VSSC, and ProClarity Cubes to analyze Access, Physician Productivity, SAILS, VACC, etc.
• Prepares draft reports, charts, briefing slides based on data collection and guidance from the DCOS, and HSS for Clinical Programs.
• Assists with tracking and planning of continuing educational activities in collaboration with the Medical Center Education Service; works with administrative staff to maintain records and documentation of all mandatory training requirements for all staff directly under the DCOS supervision.
• Maintains competency files and personnel folders on employees and clinical service chiefs under DCOS.
• Coordinates functional statements, position descriptions, performance standards and competencies under the guidance from the HSS/DCOS.
• Responsible for systems maintenance of annual performance appraisals for all GS employees, Title 38 proficiency evaluation cycle, and Executive Career Field employees.
• Performs cost analysis of expenditures and advises the SNCOS and the COS for the special projects and programs for any additional funding requirement.
• Monitors consultant costs and utilization for all clinical services in coordination with Fiscal Service.
• Coordinates with clinical service administrative staff and HR to ensure annual consultant agreements are in place and the utilization of consultants meet within the salary agreement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Demonstrates competence in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. • Serves as a developmental intern in Contract Administration within DCMA.
• Completes classroom and on-the-job training to acquire, exercise, and maintain knowledge of the duties inherent in the administration or price/cost analyst of firm-fixed-price contracts.

Secures clean linen, glassware, and silverware and sets assigned tables spreading clean linens and placing glasses, condiment holders and silverware on table. Prepares side tables with other necessary items that may be required during the course of the meal.

Works according to rigid time schedule securing food and/or beverage from kitchen or bar area. Serves meal or beverage, placing dishes by course in front of each guest. During the course of the meal, continues to monitors the guests' needs, refilling beverages and providing additional items as requested to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Upon completion of meal, removes soiled dishes, glasses and silverware and resets for the next guest.

Takes orders for alcohol, answers questions regarding beverage choices available, gives order to bartender, and delivers to customer.

May be required to receive payments, operate cash register, make and return change to the guest directly. At end of shift, completes the Daily Activity Report (DAR), verifying the amount of money collected and drops the cashier bag into the drop safe.

Performs basic cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping and vacuuming to maintain a constant and clean working area. Ensures all current sanitation requirements are followed and maintained.

The incumbent at this grade involves making repairs that can be accomplished by removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, soldering, & insulating defective wiring, controls, equipment, & fixtures such as broken and bare wiring, burned out switches & relays, loose connections & fittings, damaged light fixtures, re-lamping fixtures & poorly operating thermostats. Electrical workers at grade 8 receive work orders, oral instructions, & wiring diagrams that indicate the nature of the repair or installation to be made, the layout and placement of circuitry, fixtures, & controls, & the types of wiring, parts, & equipment installed. They locate broken, worn, damaged, worn, damaged, or poorly operating wiring, fixture, controls, & test lamps, voltage testers, ammeters, & polarity testers. They complete needed repairs to installed systems, & rearrange & hook up item such as outlets, switches, light fixtures, regulators, & circuit breakers.Electrical workers require knowledge of where fixtures, wiring, & controls, such as light switches, circuit breakers, fuses, relays, & outlets, are installed & how they operate. They must have the ability to read & follow wiring diagrams that specify where wiring, fixtures, & controls are installed or are to be hooked up & show the type of wiring, fittings, & equipment installed or to be used. Electrical workers must have the skill needed to remove & replace fixtures and controls, & to make repairs such as tightening connections, using the correct wire nut device, & soldering loose wire leads to contact points. They must also have the skill needed to rearrange old or install new outlets, relays switches, & light fixtures in existing systems, & to test circuits to see if they are complete after making repairs or installations. At this grade, electrical workers must have the skill needed to measure, cut & bend wire and conduit to specified lengths & angles. They must have skill in the use of hand tools & portable power tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, strippers, drills soldering irons, & manual or power conduit benders & threads; & a limited variety of test equipment, for example, meggers, test lamps & ammeters.Electrical worker selects tools, decides on methods and techniques to use, & carry out the work with little check during its progress. They use materials called for in work orders & schematic drawings, or obtain replacement parts by comparison with samples such as switches & wall outlet fixtures. They replace worn or bad switches, relays, & outlets by unscrewing or cutting wiring to connections. They also install or rearrange light fixtures, switches, & outlets by following schematic drawings that provide the exact work specifications, for example, the location where the electrical wiring is to be hooked into the installed system, the type, size, & measurements of wire, conduit, couplings, & fittings to use, & the type & placement of the electrical device to be installed. Routine repair & maintenance duties are accomplished independently; if unusual problems arise, or it installation or repair of unfamiliar or complex industrial electrical systems is assigned, a supervisor or higher grade worker provides advice & checks to see that completed work meets requirements.

Physical Requirements: Electrical workers at this grade make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other hard-to-reach places. This requires electrical workers to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Electrical workers frequently lift and carry tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 9 kilograms (20 pounds) and, less often, up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds). Occasionally, they lift or move with assistance moderately heavy objects weighing more than 18 kilograms.
Working Conditions: The work is performed both inside and outside. Electrical workers are sometimes required to make repairs and installations in bad weather; in work areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy; on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 9 meters (30 feet) or more; and in close quarters such as manholes, attics, or aboard ships. There will be times when the incumbent will be on ladders for a long period of time during work hours. They are occasionally exposed to the possibility of injury from falling, electrical shock, burns, and rotary devices such as electrical motors. They are frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises.

You have

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in plumbing and heating or equivalent
• ACS accredited in CCN1, HTR1, CKR1, CPA1 and CENWAT.
• Experience in gas and heating works in domestic housing.
• Fault finding experience and an excellent knowledge to ensure gas servicing and repairs are diagnosed and repaired effectively.
• Experience in other building trade areas (multi skilled).
• A flexible approach, able to use your own initiative and judgement.
• A full current driving licence, as you will be provided with a company van for business use and commuting.
