1. Serve as senior team member in quality assurance staff assistance visits and oversight inspections.

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will as a Security Specialist (Access & Credentialing)is responsible for the operation of security functions within the Identification and Access office and controlling the visitor access and movement on the facility. Typical assignments include:

• Controlling, preparing, and issuing identification badges, cards, passes, and decals that allow access.
• Ensuring National Crime Information Center (NCIC) checks are performed and verifying clearance levels of employees and visitors through the use of security databases with knowledge of fingerprinting techniques to submit for processing of contractors and federal employees.
• Following standard operating procedures for proper packing, labeling, securing, and tracking of classified documents while maintaining a variety of files, control registers, and records.
• Assisting in the maintenance and troubleshooting of security databases to provide information and assistance to staff on personnel security polices and related matters.

This position requires the following conditions of employment to be met while encumbered:

• Maintain access and rights to assigned classified communications systems.
• Complete Derivative Classification training during in-processing and must recertify every two years.
• Maintain Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD)-12 Identity Management System (IDMS) function access and rights.
• Maintain Integrated Security Management System (ISMS) access and rights.
• Maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS) certifications and rights to query criminal history and citizenship of persons attempting MWEOC access.
• Ability to know, understand, and enforce Real ID Act - Title II.

This is a Maintenance Workforce Development Program (MWDP) Position. To be eligible, you MUST be a WG, WL, WS, or GS-7 or below employee currently working with the Air Force, OR eligible to apply as a military spouse assigned to a Formal Training Plan. This position is a developmental (GS-09 Target GS-11) position. Individual selected may be promoted without further competition, upon meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. Starting salary indicated on this vacancy announcement is for the GS-09. This position is covered by a formalized training program and pay retention of 150% of the maximum rate of the basic pay is authorized.

• Perform work associated with the management of items, and preparation of data for accurate planning of budgetary estimates.

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Firefighter (Assistant Fire Chief) responsible providing technical inspections of structures, conducting fire safety classes, and assisting with the development of emergency response plans and maintenance of a state of readiness to respond to all types of emergencies including fire drills and performance tests. Typical assignments include:

• Supervising operational staff and first response personnel ensuring department can provide emergency services support 24/7, in accordance with internal and external established standards and policies.
• Managing, planning, organizing, coordinating and evaluating daily staffing requirements to ensure adequate personnel are assigned to each apparatus and applicable shift.
• Responding to emergency incidents as necessary and/or required and may be required to assume command of the incident or provide command support for senior level chief officers (operations section, safety officer, etc.).
• Developing, updating and managing operational response strategies and tactics, policies and procedures, and other related emergency mitigation tasks.
• Conducting demonstrations and lectures concerning firefighting techniques and fire protection and prevention methods (i.e., proper use of equipment, operation and maintenance of apparatus', hazardous material abatement, decontamination procedures, etc.).
