Position: Computer Network and Systems Engineer
Location: Suburban Taxis, 432 Churchill Road Kilburn, SA 5084
Reporting to: Commercial Manager
Purpose of position: To provide advanced technical support for Suburban Taxis ICT systems including servers, networking and communication system, and to advise users and managers on ICT issues.
Key Accountabilities:
? Develop, configure, and integrate computer systems by analyzing architecture specifications, diagrams, and data models.
? Plan, design, and deploy LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, and switches.
? Plan, design, deploy, and maintain PBX phone systems and integrate them with dispatching software.
? Perform network coding or scripting for server and network device backups.
? Analyze and configure networks to ensure smooth and reliable operation.
? Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and resolve technical and application issues.
? Test and maintain new networks, servers, and computers to ensure optimal performance.
? Configure, install, manage, and provide software support for Cisco products.
? Monitor network traffic and manage day-to-day technical incident and problem activities.
? Manage servers, including database, email, printer, and backup servers, along with associated operating systems and software upgrades.
? Develop technical documentation related to network configuration, network mapping, and service records.
Key Relationships:
Internal: Commercial Manager, Call Centre Manager, CEO.
External: ICT vendors and key external stakeholders.
Essential Requirements:
? Relevant qualifications in ICT and/or equivalent relevant experience.
? Experience in SD-WAN, WAN, LAN, Cloud Networking, Switching/Routing, and Firewall & Network Security.
? System administration experience for Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems, including services such as Active Directory, RDS, IIS, etc.
? Experience in VoIP technologies, particularly customization, configuration, and integration of Asterisk open-source toolkit.
? Experience with IVR and integrating AI into communication systems for automation.
? Ability to develop and maintain web applications using PHP, JavaScript, CSS, and MySQL.
? Proficiency in server management, including virtualization and cloud computing (AWS, Azure).
? Understanding of virtualization concepts such as VMWare and Xen.
? Experience in managing external vendors, specifically telecommunication vendors.
? Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM frameworks and practices, network and system security principles, and infrastructure monitoring technologies.
? As a business that operates 24/7 the capacity to provide out-of-hours support when necessary.
Desirables:
? Experience supporting 24/7 call center operations providing bureau services across multiple time zones.
? Experience integrating Asterisk with CRMs, specifically point-to-point passenger booking and dispatch software such as SmartMove and MTI dispatch software, as well as taxi industry-specific IVR systems like CabCall and SmartVoix.
? Experience setting up ICT systems ensuring 24/7 business resilience.
