We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in developing the chassis and mechanical components for a state-of-the-art portable MRI system. This role involves the design and integration of high-precision mechanical components, electronic housings, and thermal management systems, focusing on optimizing manufacturability and durability for portability.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in CAD, additive manufacturing (AM) processes, and a strong background in mechanical design for high-tech medical devices or electronics enclosures.

• Design and develop the MRI chassis and mechanical housing for electronic components, ensuring that all designs meet specifications for strength, weight, thermal stability, and compliance. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and assembly, using knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques.
• Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings of chassis, mounts, and enclosures using CAD software SolidWorks. Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulations to assess structural integrity, thermal performance, and material suitability.
• Lead efforts in prototyping, working with AM processes (SLS, SLA, MJF, DMLS, etc.), CNC,or traditional methods to create high-fidelity prototypes.
• Troubleshoot and solve design issues identified during testing, iterating quickly to improve reliability and performance.

The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) cluster at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position specialising in the philosophy of science and technology. Appointments will be made on an initial three-year contract with the possibility of renewal.

We are particularly interested in applicants who can play an instrumental role in addressing questions relating to ethics in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies—both through teaching students who are pursuing engineering, computer science, and architecture majors and through interdisciplinary research collaborations with engineering, design, and computer science faculty. We are seeking an adaptable and resourceful Event Assistant to oversee all admin and logistical aspects of our booth at an upcoming event. The event is held 14 to 16 Oct 2024 at Expo.

Responsibilities:

1. Booth Maintenance: Ensure our booth maintains a professional appearance throughout the event. Manage booth inventory, including posters audiovisual equipment, promotional materials and vistors' enquiry, if needed.
2. Admin: Take on admin tasks as needed during the event duration
3. Booth Breakdown: Assist with the the packing logistic at the end of the event, ensuring all materials are packed safely for transport or storage.

Qualifications:

1. O Level cert or equivalent

Research Assistant/Intern for Research on Wireless Power Transfer

The hired research assistant/intern will work on the development of wireless power transfer (WPT) in the Biomedical EM Lab at Singapore University of Technology and Design (http://people.sutd.edu.sg/~huangshaoying/). Project Description

The project is to investigate the design possibilities of a compact, efficient, and wideband antenna/radiator suitable for wireless energy harvesting (WEH)/WPT. This exploration will span both conductive and magnetoelectric (ME) antennas. Our study will consider WIFI, power from base stations, and WPT as potential power sources.

Job Scopes:

• Literature review of the research domain
• Designs of small antennas/radiators for WEH/WPT using commercial EM software
• Facilitate antenna/radiator fabrications and testing
• Data collection and documentations

Your profile

We are looking for a researcher with the following expertise and skills,
