We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Abuse Caseworker to join the Specialist Domestic Abuse Service based in Rochdale, working 37.5 hours a week.

We are looking for someone who likes to make a difference every day, who wants to support victims of domestic abuse to recover and live a life free from harm, someone who can work effectively within a multi-agency setting to achieve positive outcomes for the victim.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Providing a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence and abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with victims of domestic abuse to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe.
• Developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs and risk assessment.

About the role:

This role is based in Rochdale Police station along with some hybrid working, you must be prepared to travel across the borough of Rochdale and to work 1 evening a week, as and when required.

The purpose of the Team Leader role is to ensure the delivery of excellent services to victims in accordance with the service specification and performance targets. Supporting and managing operational staff, ensuring that the overall aim of supporting clients is achieved. The role will work collaboratively with the Senior Operations Manager & Management team, in order to achieve the implementation of business plan and the development of the service to maximise positive outcomes for clients. The role will focus on performance management of their reports including auditing cases, allocation of cases and input into performance reporting.

You will be responsible for a team of IDVAs and Domestic Abuse Prevention workers and your main focus will be to grow the perpetrator provision of the service ensuring that we are delivering a behaviour change service to people who harm, whilst continuing to promote and grow the service. The role also entails assisting the Domestic Abuse Prevention Workers with the delivery of the behaviour change programme by stepping in as a co facilitator from time to time, as and when required. To ensure that we have continuity of service.

You will need:

• experience of managing a busy front line team.
• to be able to work without direct supervision & prioritise work effectively
• experience of providing crisis management, support and guidance in sometimes stressful and difficult situations to a team with a client service focus
• excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting professionally with a range of agencies and individuals.
• effective and supportive people management skills including
• a passion for working with Victim/Survivors of Domestic abuse and those who harm.
• ideally a background in Probation, Homelessness or the Police would be advantageous.

About the role:

This role is based in Rochdale Police station along with some hybrid working, you must be prepared to travel across the borough of Rochdale.

As a CYP IDVA you will deliver specialist and enhanced support to Children and Young People aged 4-17 who have experienced Domestic Violence Abuse in the home. You will be responsible for providing high quality interventions to children & young people affected by DVA through the development of individually tailored & risk assessed support and safety plans. You will offer support through one-to-one sessions to address issues of self-esteem, manage emotions and feelings of blame and responsibility with the aim to improve understanding of abusive behaviour, healthy relationships and conflict resolution.

You will need:

To conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments and ensure each CYP receives an individual tailored support package that fully meets their identified needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.

To advocate on behalf of children and young people with experience of domestic abuse to ensure the diverse needs of children and young people using the service are met.

Provide one to one support to children and young people living in families affected by domestic abuse.

The ability to review the assessment of risk on an ongoing basis, ensuring appropriate and immediate action is taken in respect of any CYP facing significant harm, making the necessary referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes as required given the legal framework relating to the protection of children and the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children's Board.

To establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, with the intention of supporting children and young people who have been impacted by domestic abuse. Attend meetings as required.

Ideally a background in Social Worker, Domestic Abuse or Children & Young People services would be advantageous.

About the role:

This role is based in Rochdale Police station along with some hybrid working, you must be prepared to deliver and facilitate recognised support and behaviour change programmes to perpetrators of domestic abuse (DA) and those at risk of becoming perpetrators.

As a Perpetrator Caseworker you will plan, prepare and effectively facilitate (lead and co-facilitate) the delivery of group work programmes to perpetrators of DA. This may be delivered through face to face, online or a blended approach.

You will maintain a proactive response to service users, continuously providing positive options for behaviour change, using a combination of motivational work, relationship building and a broad range of skills to encourage service users to address their abusive behaviour.

You will develop and maintain effective working relationships & promote effective communication, integrating the programme with the support offered to victims within the local domestic abuse service structure, ensuring that you work closely with services, partners, ex-partners, new partners, and family members.

You will need:

• Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and stalking, including the impact on victims and their children, and the legal and practical remedies available.
• Belief in perpetrator behaviour change.
• Empathy and the ability to support and guide your service users, demonstrating excellent advisory, negotiation & persuasive skills.
• Experience of working directly with perpetrators of domestic abuse in a statutory, voluntary, social or community work setting.
• A good knowledge of effective ways of working/engaging with perpetrators of domestic abuse.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including networking skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with other agencies.
• Ideally a background in Probation, Homelessness or the Police would be advantageous.
