Braeburn Court is located in St Margaret’s Hope and offers a Housing Support and Care at Home Service to older persons who are supported and enabled to live independently and manage their own tenancies.

We are seeking to recruit dynamic and innovative team players who are highly motivated towards providing a high quality service underpinned by a re-ablement ethos.

The service is seeking to recruit motivated people with organisational, communication and supervisory skills, who will be responsible for the day to day running of the service and will report to the Registered Manager and assist them to ensure that the requirements of the Health and Social Care standards and the Care Inspectorate are achieved.

You must be able to demonstrate that you have a commitment, knowledge and experience of supporting older people, a strong sense of professionalism, sound knowledge of supporting the development of outcome focussed support plans, risk assessments and on-going co-ordination of high quality support packages, under pinned by a re-ablement approach. You will be able to deliver the required supervision and support to staff to ensure that they are competent and able to support individuals to achieve their personal outcomes. You should be adaptable and able to work flexibly with a capacity to work under pressure.

Applicants will hold a practice qualification that meets the SSSC registration requirements as a Supervisor in a Care at Home Service i.e. HNC in Health and Social Care or SVQ3 (SCQF7) in Health and Social Care AND a Supervisory qualification that where this is not held, there is a requirement to achieve this within 5 years of appointment.

You are required to register with the SSSC as a Supervisor in a care at home service within the first 6 months of taking up post.

The postholder will be required to manage and develop our existing databases and processes, in accordance with our information and data strategy, as part of our wider Digital Strategy.

We are looking for someone who has experience of administrating, designing, developing, maintaining and implementing Oracle/SQL relational databases including managing and maintaining backings, working with tables and ensuring the integrity of our databases and management systems.

The successful applicant will be experienced in working with Oracle/SQL relational databases and will be educated to SCQF level 8/9 in a relevant discipline or has a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in a relevant role.

We are looking for an experienced person to help expand and develop the service offering to growth businesses within the Business Gateway. To successfully deliver a range of professional advisory and financial support services and manage delivery of aftercare services, which will lead to an increase in business growth and improved business survival rates.

The successful post holder will support, work closely with, and report to the Business Gateway Manager to manage the delivery of high quality business support services to new high-value start-up businesses and existing businesses with growth potential. Supporting the delivery and promotion of the Orkney Business Gateway service, including a range of financial assistance programmes, business skills workshops, access to specialist advice/business information and access to a variety of business development tools, including the Business Gateway website.

Knowledge of project planning and implementation is essential for this role as is experience of managing programmes of activities and directly engaging with customers. Experience in the delivery of economic development support is desirable. Working effecively with others to develop professional relationships with colleagues, partners, communities and the public form a crucial part of this role.

You should be educated to HNC, SVQ3 or SCQF level 7 or equivalent level qualification in a relevant subject area. You should also hold a Premier Adviser qualification (SFEDI Diploma in Business Advice at SCQF Level 8) or, where this is not held, the requirement to undertake this qualification.

We are looking for a dedicated individual with the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and adapt to changing working practices. Working knowledge of IT applications and proficiency with Microsoft Office and similar applications is essential.

The post holder will support the Chief Finance Officer in performing the duties of the revenue accounting function.

The post holder will provide Council Services with high quality financial advice, ensuring the maintenance of sound financial and accounting practice and adherence to Council procedures. There is a requirement for excellent communication skills and the ability to produce written work to a high standard. This will include sound numerical and analytical skills and be familiar with computer based financial systems.
