The role of a Computer Networks and Systems Engineer at Telasis involves designing, implementing, and maintaining computer networks and systems within an organization. This position is integral to ensuring the efficient and secure functioning of the organization's network infrastructure, encompassing hardware, software, and connectivity components. The Engineer will play a vital role in optimizing network performance, supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, and facilitating seamless communication and data exchange among various systems and users.
Position: Computer Network and Systems Engineer
Location: Suite 5, 21 Aristoc Road, Glen Waverley, VIC 3150
Salary: $70k + superannuation, subject to review based on performance
As a Computer Network and Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:
1. Strategize, create, implement, test, and enhance network and system services.
2. Assume accountability for configuration management and the overall operational readiness of network infrastructure and systems.
3. Analyze, formulate, interpret, and evaluate intricate system design and architectural specifications, including data models and diagrams, throughout the development, setup, and integration of computer systems.
4. Conduct research, examination, assessment, and oversight of network infrastructure to ensure optimal operational performance.
5. Evaluate and propose improvements for network operations, encompassing the integration of hardware, software, communication, and operating systems.
6. Provide troubleshooting services for network issues.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a related field.
2. More than 3 years of professional experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining computer networks and systems is required.
3. While not mandatory, certifications from reputable organizations such as Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), CompTIA (Network+, Security+), or similar certifications demonstrating expertise in networking and systems engineering are essential.
4. Proficiency in various networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, and switching. Essential familiarity with network hardware, firewalls, and security systems.
5. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or scripting languages for task automation and enhancing network functionalities.
6. Familiarity with operating systems like Windows, Linux, or Unix. Proficiency in system administration tasks and effective troubleshooting are important.
7. Ability to analyze complex technical issues, design efficient solutions, and troubleshoot network problems effectively.
8. Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams, conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders, and writing documentation.
9. Crucial ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, trends, and industry developments.
