Service Lead Youth Support - £30,000 per annum
This is a managerial position and experience of supervising staff is essential.
Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm. Weekend working and sleep-in’s to cover annual leave or sickness if required.
This is not elderly care - You will need to have experience of supporting younger people
At LINX16+ our primary objective is to provide vulnerable young people with quality support and guidance within a safe environment to enable them to develop the necessary skills to live full and independent lives within the local and wider community. We are committed to working in partnership with commissioning bodies to provide quality services supporting young people to prepare them for transition to independence and adult life. We support young people leaving care, young people at risk of homelessness, unaccompanied young asylum seekers and pregnant teenagers amongst others.
What is the role?
As a Service Lead you will lead and direct the day-to-day operational management of the Service, ensuring that available resources are used effectively to enable the provision of good quality support. You will operate with clear and consistent approaches in line with Linx 16+ Supported Accommodation Services providing accommodation and care for Young People in accordance with the organisation, and in accordance with relevant legislation. You will promote the welfare, safety, personal development and well-being of Young People receiving support at the service.
What do we look for?
The skills and experience necessary to safeguard Young People and make the necessary referrals in line with local safeguarding procedures
Work closely with the service development team, participating in the selection and compatibility of potential new residents, their assessment, and transition into the Service if appropriate
To have the knowledge and ability to monitor and adhere to Health & Safety legislation and good practice
To have the skills necessary to undertake the management of assessing Young People’s needs and developing individual support plans from the information
To have the ability to support and develop staff and carry out staff supervision and appraisal
Level 5 essential or commitment to complete within 2 years. Level 3 CCYP and relevant experience will be considered in exceptional circumstances
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends on a rota basis and sometimes short notice changes in shifts
