• Directs and manages the 49 WG Protocol Office. Provides policy and procedural guidance for the 49th Wing Commander and other applicable agencies as the host wing to the largest Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Formal Training Unit (FTU), AETC's 54th Fighter Group F-16 FTU, AFMC's 96th Test Group, and the German Air Force's Flying Training Center (FTC) concerning proper protocol requirements for visiting dignitaries, military ceremonies, conferences, official meetings, briefings, etc.
• Serves as protocol advisor to 49th Wing Commander, staff, and functional base level points of contact. Plans, designs, and arranges or provides protocol advice to the Commander on a wide variety of formal and informal ceremonies, meetings, receptions, and other functions in support of ACC, AETC, and AFMC's diverse local missions. Prepares a recommended guest list for review and approval. Prepares and sends invitations and tracks responses. Meets with club staff and determines appropriate menu, refreshments, escorts, and seating arrangements for the functions.
• Manages the Wing Commander's Contingency Fund and use of Non-appropriated Funds. Authorizes and commits government funds within the area of responsibility and makes authorized payments. Assists in the justification, preparation and submission of protocol budget according to guidance provided by the budget office. Prepares funding requests to support official visits. Submits detailed vouchers following each visit that is paid in full or part from the contingency fund. Tracks all gifts and recipients and provides input to status of report of funds activities. Accomplishes research and advises as to the propriety of expenditures to ensure compliance with Air Force and DOD directives.
• Directs the submission and maintenance of protocol rosters, reports and correspondence. Directs the data collection and preparation of reports for distribution to 49th Wing senior staff and tenant unit organizations upon request. Oversees the development and updating of informal visitor brochures. Oversees the development and maintenance of visitor and other protocol information files. Ensures the development of various protocol correspondence to include requests for funding, letters of appreciation, letters of invitations, etc., for the Commander's signature.

• Provides official/personal mail service in accordance with DoD 4525.6-M, DoD Postal Manual and DoD 4525.8-M, DoD Official Mail Manual; DoDI 4525.8/AF Sup 1; Official Mail and Distribution Management; and Cost Control Program. Processes annually more than 4 million pieces of official and personnel mail at three official mail centers JBSA Ft Sam Houston, Lackland AFB and Randolph AFB Official Mail Centers (OMC), six postal service centers, Randolph Postal Service Center (PSC), Lackland Postal Service Centers (PSC #2, #3 and #7) and a Student Mail Center (SMC) and Benner Barracks at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston.
• Accountable Mail: To provide accountability and control of classified communications; to provide document security services; and to provide office automation and clerical support for the Operations Flight. Receives, records, sorts, transports, controls, and processes all incoming and outgoing special services mail, i.e. registered, express, certified, insured, and other various extra service articles personally through the window to the addressee/authorized agent and to various organizations and mailrooms designated mail orderlies and mail clerks.
• Provides expedient and complete mail like matter services sent via commercial carriers. Responsible for securely receiving, controlling and processing commercial carrier parcels (i.e. UPS and FedEx parcels).
• To provide first-line defense of Mail Security for JBSA customers and serviced activities. Responsible for knowing the characteristics of suspicious mail items and the proper procedures for handling and reporting suspicious mail items to the proper authorities.
• Maintains and Operates as a Unit Mail Clerk. Responsible for assigning and withdrawal of receptacles for TDY, student and permanent party postal lock boxes, changing combinations/keys, redirecting undeliverable mail.

• Provides supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for equipment, parts, and a wide variety of supply items.
• Maintains property accounts and records, completing individual transactions, screening reference files, conducting data searches, and distributing output files.
• Performs document control work involved in the processing of supply transactions. Processes receipt, shipment, and/or adjustment documents following established policies and procedures.

Prepares convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets. Some cooks at this level prepare and bake pizza. The purpose of this position is to perform minor construction and repair on existing structures involving standard measurements, specifications, instructions, and basic shop mathematics. Installs exterior and interior trim using preplanned materials, such as baseboard, and molding. Replaces broken or missing acoustical ceiling tile, broken door and window trim, window screens, stairway steps, wooden porches, door jambs, and other damaged wood components. Interprets specifications, such as work orders with sketches or easily understood blueprints and technical instructions to plan and layout work. Repairs and refinishes furniture and repairs.

Follow inspections conducted by incumbent or specific information (work orders), locates and makes repairs to plumbing that can be accomplished by installing, removing, cleaning, replacing, modifying, package, and sealing defective parts of utility, supply, gas distribution, and disposal systems such as dirty traps, sections of broken tile or pipe, and leaky drains using existing routes, openings, hangers, and levels. Caulks and seals such things as elbows, union joints, and tiles or pipes, faucets, and shower drains. Checks operation and completes needed repairs to small parts and sections of existing systems, such as water heaters, disposal units, and faucets.

Prepares wood and metal surfaces to be painted; mixes and prepares coating aerial, and applies coating materials. Prepares surfaces by scraping, wire brushing, masking, spackling, and sanding surfaces. Mixes and thins coating materials to obtain desired consistency following specific written directives. Applies coating materials, such as primers, paints, varnishes, and shellacs, using standard application techniques and ensures that the coating finish meets surface protection requirements.

Makes minor electrical repairs by replacing fixtures, switches, stove burners, electrical cords, bulbs, and fluorescent fixtures. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of gasoline powered equipment to ensure equipment is in good mechanical and safe operating condition. Performs routine maintenance such as oil change, minor adjustments, spark plugs cleaning and replacement on such equipment. Performs routine inspection and minor maintenance on Lodging vehicles to include oil change, battery checks, condition of brakes, filling tanks with gasoline, checking fluid levels, hoses and filters, changing fan belts, and replacing lights.

Required to move equipment, furniture, and supply items between quarters, supply room and warehouses. Drives vehicles weighing up to I0,000 pounds to various locations both on and off base. May operate a government vehicle to include light truck, sedan, golf cart, etc.

• Program and Institutional Assessment: Develops, coordinates, and implements Air Force programs and policies pertaining to comprehensive assessment of AU education programs, including Professional Military Education (PME), Professional Continuing Education (PCE), and Graduate Education programs. Regularly analyzes and evaluates current AF education programs for evidence of ongoing continuous improvement and achievement of programs outcomes.
• Advisory Board Management: Advises senior leaders on advisory board recruitment, governance of AU, and programs for review by the governing boards. Consistently directs multi-school participation in coordinates activities of the AU Board of Visitors (BOV) composed of distinguished leaders from academia, industry, and government service. Performs a full range of accounting duties using double-entry accrual accounting methods. Classifies and verifies a wide variety of accounting documents in order to assure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information, and to prepare control sheets with appropriate accounting codes. Maintains double-entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers, posting entries to establish accounts. Prepares monthly balances, reconciles accounts, and transcribes to general ledger for closeout of all accounts. Traces discrepancies, if necessary, to posting documents, computes operational expenses incurred by individual activities for accounting services provided, and assigns charges appropriately. Provide support to assigned activities personnel in preparing 1876's, ending inventory, etc. Provide training and coaching as needed to activity managers.
