The Regional Account Director for Power Protection is responsible for driving strategic direction at large, regional/global Hyperscale, Colocation and Enterprise accounts to satisfy customer needs while protecting and growing ABB’s Power Protection business.
This will include growth targets for new business and expansion of existing business. While having individual sales targets, the position requires a significant amount of coordination across the entire organization to ensure successful creation of demand, strategic alignment, closing of sales opportunities and account satisfaction. The successful candidate should have a clear understanding of thebusiness models of ABB’s Power Protectioncustomers.
The role requires leadership, large account management experience and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work with senior executives inside and outside the organization.
International travel will also be required with this role.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Leads the development and implementation of the account plan and Statement of Work (SoW) growth actions.
- Understands the key business drivers, including significant and emerging business risks (e.g., sustainability/digital/cybersecurity) of the relevant global customer’s business and business environment and interprets the corresponding impacts and opportunities for ABB.
- Participates in the development of sales strategies for the account through providing current business and long-term plans of the customer.
- Defines and proposes sales targets for the account and ensures their achievement through a structured follow-up process across divisions and countries.
- Sells products/solutions/services to customers, focusing on volume, mix, and profitability targets, representing ABB, overall.
- Creates added value for the customer and ABB by ensuring a coordinated sales approach (e.g., frame agreements, sales planning, and issue resolution).
- Monitors competitors’ activity with the account and ensures that appropriate response strategies are formulated and implemented.
- Gives input on market price developments.
- Drives application of standardized marketing & sales processes and tools (Salesforce, account plans, etc.) for the account.
Your background:
- Postgraduate Degree or above, in Business or Engineering field. MBA preferred.
- Extensive Data Center experience and knowledge in the electrical/mechanical industries (20+ years preferred)
- Wide network across data center industry in both EMEA and APAC region
- Successful track record in managing global / regional accounts
- Strong influencing skills working across functions, geographies, and segments
- Previous experience in Electrical (Switchgears, Uninterruptible Power Supplies), Automation (Power Management Systems, Building Management Systems) and Mechanical Industries
- Understanding of mission critical segments: Data Center, Infrastructure, Utility
- Familiar with tendering, commissioning and project execution processes
- Strong leadership skills and ability to drive change in a matrix organization
