The Business Analyst, Custom Software reports to the Business Analysis Manager at ACRT Services. This position will play a key role in analyzing business information, methods, systems, processes, and procedures to determine practical business solutions. This position will also confer with personnel in business units to identify current state and help stakeholders envision how their work processes or systems will need to change to support the future state. The business analyst will create descriptions of business needs and future state requirements as well as manage the portfolio of IT projects and initiatives. This position requires a high degree of organization and excellent attention to detail.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document business requirements for custom software and third-party systems
- Write stories to be developed by internal or offshore development teams
- Manage a product backlog of requirements
- Document data integrations and data mapping
- Facilitate use acceptance testing including writing test scenarios and performing testing on system changes
- Oversee project implementations for custom software or third-party systems
- List and track project status and timeline, establish project scope an estimates
- Manage relationship with offshore development teams
- Communicate status of project work
- Provide support for questions, troubleshooting, and software enhancement requests for field staff and customers on software solutions
- Provide training to internal and external users on current or new systems
- Support the business development and operations teams in sales conversations as an IT custom software subject matter expert
- Assist with RFP responses, software solution overviews, and demos
Education: Bachelor’s degree OR 5 years of business analyst, quality analyst, project management, or vegetation management experience in lieu of a degree
Experience: 3 years of business analyst, quality analyst, or project management experience or 3 years of experience in a vegetation management role
Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems
Experience: 3 to 5 years of related business analyst experience and 1 year of experience with agile projects
Ability to use critical thinking to solve problems using the resources that are available.
Possesses strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with internal stakeholders, vendors, consultants and external customers or potential customers.
Ability to breakdown complex processes and turn them into actionable requirements.
Aptitude to learn technical system configuration.
Self motivated with a positive attitude.
Possesses strong time management and organizational skills.
Experience with Microsoft Suite of products including Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of agile delivery methodologies.
Ability to work with an offshore development team.
Experience working with custom applications preferred but not required.

At ACRT Services we prefer in-person employee interaction and we rely on collaboration among groups to be successful and agile, which means we expect work in the office to continue as an important part of our company culture and a key to employee success. This position is a remote hybrid role for employees living near the Stow office, meaning employees will be required to come into the Stow, Ohio office on a weekly or as needed basis. For employees that live outside of a reasonable distance from the Stow office, this position will be remote.
Standard office equipment will be provided to work in the office and at home – a dedicated space at home to work is also required. Uninterrupted home-based internet is a must in your home to attend and host video calls, along with a minimum bandwidth speed of 20 mbps. If you do not have an in home office space or cannot meet the internet needs, an office space will be provided for you in the company’s Stow, Ohio office.
This position is not open to candidates located in Colorado/ California / Connecticut / Maryland / New Jersey / New York / Nevada / Rhode Island / Washington (state) / Toledo, Ohio and Cincinnati, Ohio.
