This position is to facilitates community development initiatives and collective solutions within a community to address issues, needs and problems associated with recreational, health, housing, employment and other welfare matters.
All applicants must be willing to learn and demonstrate relevant experience and/or qualifications.
Key Requirements
Minimum two years of experience in a similar role
Keeping sensitive information confidential
Positive attitude towards the participants and their family.
Monitoring and reporting client progress.
Assessing community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services.
Staff must be enthusiastic, motivated and eager to provide care and assistance to the best of their ability whilst following company.
Standards, policies, and guidelines as well as the National Disability Service Standards.
Helping participants achieve their individual goals.
Assessing client needs and development and planning including implementing educational, training and supportive programs.
Refer client to agencies to get additional help.
Supporting families and providing education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions.
Assisting young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems
Discussing clients and understanding to assess the extent of difficulties.
Support with daily living and personal care/ homecare and domestic duties.
Arrange and supervise activities designed to enhance the physical, social and emotional well-being of participants.
Personal Qualities.
Liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services.
Supervising offenders on probation and parole
Preparing paperwork for funding and resources, and documents to government bodies and other agencies
Integrity, Empathy, Respectful for the rights of others
Compassion, Organisation skills
Excellence ability to think for yourself
Able to work autonomously, responsible, supportive and caring attitude
Sensitive, Patient, innovative
Good people skills with the ability to relate well to the participants
Accommodating to the different personalities and abilities of the participants
Essential Criteria
First Aid Certificate/CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain one
Valid Driver’s Licence/own reliable, licensed car with comprehensive car insurance
National Police Check
Current Working with Children Check or willingness to get one
Need to have full working rights in Australia or an appropriate visa
Manual Handling Certificate or willingness to get one
Beneficial
Certificate III/IV in Disability Services, Aged Care or equivalent.
