• Review program requirements, specs, test plans, and program plans to design security solutions for the successful development, testing, and fielding of missile defense capabilities

Your Main Objective:

As a System Engineer, you will participate in the development, facilitation and coordination of system engineering documentation such as: System Engineering Plans; Initial Capabilities Documents; Requirements Specifications; and Interface Control Documentation. Provide technical support for the development/engineering, interfacing/integration and testing of components of complex hardware and software systems to include: Requirements elicitation; Analysis and functional allocation; Conduct systems requirements reviews; Develop concepts of operation and interface standards; Develop system architectures; and Perform technical/non-technical assessments for TSVCIS Working Group members and various partnerships. Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities:

The Digital Modernization Sector within Leidos’ Defense Group has an opening for a Systems Engineer for the Global Solution Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. This contract includes the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).  It also includes support to other key tasks for DISA, including the transformation of DISA’s operational mission through innovation, and support to DISA’s mission partners. 

This position is located virtually in the Ft. Meade, MD or Scott AFB area. One must live within driving distance of Fort Meade or Scott AFB as they will need to be in the office as needed.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for working within a fast paced, Agile team to support the management of requirements, design, integration, and deliver new infrastructure as code automated test functionality and support existing frameworks in the AWS Cloud.  This position would support requirements, design, integration, and deployment of new automated capabilities for end users located at Scott AFB/Fort Meade.  Specific tasks would include documenting and understanding the as-is processes, developing detailed business process descriptions and performance requirements, and measuring the deployed automation against productivity metrics to demonstrate success.  They will be responsible for testing and verification of new capability prior to deployment to production. To accomplish these goals, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong deductive reasoning, attention to detail, persistence, patience, and creativity.

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate primary responsibility will be:

• Collaborate with process owner(s), technical leads, and a variety of process stakeholders.

• Leading tasks related to managing and employing SE standard methods, models and artifacts, SE processes and tools to accomplish analysis, problem diagnosis and solution design, integration and test preparation, risk assessment and mitigation planning, and related activities as directed.
