The incumbent will be able to demonstrate their ability to utilize an acceptable proficiency in the use of RME appropriate to this position.
The employee is under the supervision of the Chief/Assistant Chief/Shift Supervisor, Sterile Processing Service (SPS).

• The supervisor and/or Service Chief will assign work with standing instructions on objectives, priorities, and deadlines, and provides guidance for unusually involved situations.
• The employee will work as team member with other Medical Supply Technicians of various experience to carry out the daily work utilizing the written standard operating procedures and/or manufactures written instructions in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted/standard practices.
• The supervisor evaluates completed work for overall technical soundness and conformance to agency policies through competency assessment utilizing simulation, direct observation and verbal responses from the incumbent.

This Supervisory Human Resources Specialist position is located Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:

• Functions as the airport subject matter expert (SME) on human capital core functions to ensure compliance with the Office of Human Capital (OHC) directives, policies, guidance, procedures and requirements.
• Provides advice and guidance to junior specialists, professionals, managers, employees and external representatives to resolve problems not always susceptible to treatment by standards.
• Identifies and proposes solutions to complex issues and concerns where previous studies and established techniques require modification and adaptation.

The incumbent performs tasks with several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations. The incumbent follows set procedures in accomplishing repetitive assignments and follows an established sequence of work. Performs any combination of the following:

• Serve as a delivery driver to deliver pizza on base
• Set up buffet/food lines, steam tables, dinning room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages
• May serve food by placing portions of food on customer's plates. Brews coffee according to the number of servings required. Assemble and toss fresh fruit or green salads in quantity using prepared dressings and portion into standard serving sizes. Portions other food items (e.g., gelatins, juices and desserts) into standard serving sizes using the proper utensils and containers. Makes sandwiches using prepared ingredients.
• Break down and cleaning assigned area when the meal is finished and return food to the main kitchen.
• Sets up and operates a mechanical dishwasher, including the continuous conveyor belt-feeding dishwasher. Removes inspection doors, strainer pans, screens and spray arms for preventive maintenance and cleaning.
• Scrapes, soaks, scour and scrubs the heavier cooking utensils such as mixing bowls and pots, which because of their large size and weight are awkward to handle.
• Performs heavy-duty cleaning tasks in food service areas, such as cleaning ceilings and transoms; exhaust hoods; spaces under and behind kitchen equipment, including moving the equipment; washing floors and walls with powered cleaning equipment; cleaning walk-in refrigerators and freezers; and sanitizing garbage rooms.
