Your responsibilities in this role:

Responsible for the rectification and repair of the Hercules C130J/C130 Legacy model aircraft avionics and electrical systems (and when required Role Equipment), including functional testing, fault finding, embodiment of modifications, technical instructions, and scheduled maintenance I.A.W relevant Air Publications and Job Guides. They will comply with procedures and practices laid down in local regulations and company business management system procedures, or as directed by the relevant Team Leader.
This position will require work predominantly on a day shift, as directed in support of customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Have an Aeronautical apprenticeship and/or military equivalent in avionics and/or electrical systems.

Essential

• Relevant recent experience of aircraft avionics and/or electrical systems.
• Proven track record in the Aerospace industry and evidence to support this (preferably evidence of certification / approval / authorisations).
• Possess a sound knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.
• Understanding of Human Factors.
• Previous aircraft wiring harness repair/manufacture, including the use of a wide range of crimp tools, and soldering experience.
• Able to understand and interpret technical data including wiring diagrams.
• Computer skills to enable computer-based certification.
• Good literacy skills including English Language proficiency to level 4.
• Right to work in the U.K.
• Hold a current UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Previously held a Lockheed C130 qualification.
• Supervisory experience.
• Previous use of IFS computer systems.
• Experience of managing internal and external relationships with customers, aircraft tradesmen, other departments.
• Experience in mentoring staff.
• Actively support, promote, and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and activity to ensure that progressive gains in efficiency are maintained.

The role will be supervising and working a 4x4 shift pattern.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver surface preparation and finishing of all aircraft and components.
• Deliver all health, safety, environmental and airworthiness regulations.
• Deliver all works within company procedures to ensure compliance with requirements associated with the role, e.g., tool control, document control, system updates and certification.
• Maintain all equipment and dedicated paint preparation and application areas to the required standard.

Tasks:

• Complete coating removal tasks allocated by supervisor/team leader to support inspection of aircraft and aircraft components.
• Complete surface refinishing tasks allocated by supervisor/team leader to support recovery of aircraft and aircraft components.
• Accurately record data as described by tasks or associated manual.
• Complete checks as required by the business documentation e.g., PPE & tool checks etc.
• Attend relevant training or meetings as specified by the management team.

Technical Competencies:

• High degree of understanding of surface finishing and inspection techniques
• High degree of understanding of aviation paint coating systems
• High degree of understanding of aircraft and their technical data sets
• High degree of understanding of various application methods i.e., Airless, Air assisted etc.
• Detailed knowledge of aviation manuals
• Basic quality assurance knowledge
• Computer literate (MS Office)

Education:

• Certificate of training from a recognised paint manufacturer, major distributor, airline, or a City & Guild / Apprenticeship qualification in any paint field. Essential
• Proof of any previously held inspection training. Highly desirable
• Certificates for previous MEWP's, EWIS, FOD, EASA etc. training. Highly desirable
• Approved Aeronautical Engineering apprenticeship (Covering trim & aircraft interiors) or equivalent (level 3). Desirable

Accountability

Accountable for providing and maintaining detailed baseline schedules to operations that enable identification of critical paths, high risk tasks, key milestones, dependencies and input phases along with the required weekly resource demand across all trades

• Project controls - Actively manage schedules that identify resources, help identify risk and aid in scenario planning
• Change Control - manage change into a baselined schedule.
• Integration of schedules - Link individual schedules into the Integrated master schedule to support capacity planning
• Stakeholder management - Engage with operations and customer support to ensure their methodologies and requirements are incorporated into baseline schedules
• Continues improvement - As part of a team, identify opportunities of improvement on baseline schedules.

Tasks:

• Create task level schedules which will update an ERP system
• Mature baseline schedules by applying analytics and historic data
• Integrate additional and emergent scope into baseline, or live schedules to assess impact to critical path, resource and project risks.
• Scenario planning
• Work with resource planning to enable strategic and tactical operation planning
• Agree and implement changes to schedules as required to allow holistic business decisions.
