- Assists other Reclamation staff in the collection of baseline data and monitoring to ensure compliance with environmental statutes.
-Conducts radio telemetry.
- Glendive/MT location: Conducts In-river sampling and radio telemetry of native fishes (via boat) of the Yellowstone River in Eastern Montana.
- New Mexico locations: Conducts presence/absence surveys and nest monitoring for the Southwestern willow flycatcher and yellow-billed cuckoo within the Rio Grande Basin of New Mexico.
- May assume some additional responsibility as a crew leader, making minor project related decisions in the absence of the Supervisor.

Additional information: We are looking for approximately 26 individuals that will work as part of field crews primarily conducting presence/absence surveys for the federally listed southwestern willow flycatcher and yellow-billed cuckoo within riparian habitat along the Rio Grande in central and southern New Mexico. Daily work will consist of communication with crew members and field supervisors; operation of government vehicles; navigation to and through sites via map, compass and GPS; and compilation and reporting of field data. Individuals will receive survey protocol training, provided by Reclamation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, for both species. These positions estimated start date May 12, 2025, and work will end on August 8, 2025 (approximately 90 days). Selectees will be required to obtain housing at their project location (either Socorro or Truth or Consequences) during this period.

We are also looking for an individual to work on the Lower Yellowstone River out of Glendive, MT located in the eastern edge of Montana near the North Dakota border. This position estimated start date April 21, 2025, and work will end on October 17, 2025. If selected for this position, individual will be working directly with personnel from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and Reclamation. Employee will assist in data collection for fish studies including examining movements, passage proximate to Reclamation structures and habitat use of native fishes on the lower Yellowstone River in Montana. Species include but are not limited to pallid and shovelnose sturgeon, paddlefish, blue sucker and sauger. Work will include collection of large-river fish using accepted protocols and sampling equipment such as electrofishing gear, trammel nets, hoop nets, and trotlines; implantation of external tags, internal PIT tags and transmitters; collection of genetic tissue samples and blood samples from pallid sturgeon; telemetry relocation of native species from jet boat and ground-based stations; collection of blood samples to assess sexual maturity, and collection of tissue samples for genetics. Employee must accurately identify, measure, and record data on all fish captured, operate, and download data from telemetry equipment, complete habitat survey measurements, and take water quality measurements. Employee will enter data into established databases. Employee will be required to maintain equipment and tools without direct supervision.Position will be supervised by a fishery biologist, but work will often be completed independently or with another seasonal employee. Employee will assist with the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and replacement of all sampling equipment (e.g. boats, trailers, motors, nets, telemetry equipment, etc.). This work will primarily be conducted via boat and selectees will be required to attend a Department of Interior motorboat operator certification course (MOCC) prior to starting field work. Reclamation will coordinate and pay for this training which will likely be at one of our field offices.

All positions will be based out of Reclamation's Technical Service Center in Denver, Colorado, but individuals will be assigned to a temporary duty station at one of the following locations - Socorro or Truth or Consequences, NM or Glendive, MT. Hourly pay for the respective grade levels will be based on the Denver-Aurora locality pay area. Employees will be in travel status and will receive a reduced meals and incidentals per diem in addition to lodging reimbursement while at field locations that will equate to roughly $48 per day ($1,440 per month). Individuals will be required to produce lodging receipts. Selectees will be expected to arrive at their assigned project location in either New Mexico or Montana on the established start date to begin onboarding and training.

Programmer (python/C) in the Collaborative Computing Project 4 Macromolecular Crystallography.

We look for a programmer in the field of macromolecular crystallographic computing. We seek to develop, implement, and apply methodology for identification and examination of multiple structural states and conformations for this, and will employ the Bayesian decomposition we have developed. Any development is to be implemented within the programs servalcat/refmac for the CCP4 computing programming suite and released publicly.

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in crystallographic theory and able to code. The post will be based at Southampton with regular research visits to the LMB Cambridge and to the Research Complex at Harwell for interaction with the CCP4 core team. The project has a focus on time resolved work and cooperates with the UK XFEL hub at the Diamond Light Source. This contract is initially 15 month, but may be extended.

We are seeking a Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary team studying how the immune system controls infection. Cryptococcal meningitis (CM) is a fungal infection of immunocompromised individuals, responsible for over 100,000 deaths globally each year and 20% of AIDS-related deaths. In this project, we are studying a new way that macrophage immune cells can ingest and kill Cryptococcus. We have discovered that macrophages have sub-micron ridges on their surface which improves their ability to interact and phagocytose Cryptococcus.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and perform experiments to study host-pathogen interactions.
• Apply live imaging techniques to observe host-pathogen interactions in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo.
• Employ advanced microscopy techniques to capture high-resolution images of immune cell interactions.
• Conduct quantitative image analysis to evaluate experimental data.
• Analyse data and interpret results to contribute to the understanding of immune responses to Cryptococcus.
• Collaborate with fellow researchers and team members to successfully implement research projects.

A track record of research in AI, with a specific focus on Electronics Testing and Verification or a closely related area.
Experience in delivering research project results in an Electronics Testing and Verification and/or AI context; i.e. a record of peer-reviewed journal and conference papers in a relevant area.
Ability to be adaptive and accepting of new ideas and a willingness to approach new challenges and adjusts plans to meet new priorities.

This post offers the chance to work alongside Professor Kate Dommett on a range of ongoing research projects focused on digital technology, trust, and electoral campaigning regulation.

The primary focus of this post is the newly awarded Trans-Atlantic Partnership Grant entitled ‘The Potential of Digital: Optimising Trustworthy Digital Contact’. The successful candidate will join an international research team, contributing to ongoing work on digital technology, democracy, and trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting interviews with political elites and contributing to an exciting opportunity to conduct a field experiment.

In addition, the successful candidate will have the chance to collaborate with Professor Dommett on an ongoing project with the UK Electoral Commission, looking at the regulation of digital campaigning. This work has most recently focused on the implementation of digital imprints, but also includes work examining how digital technology and machine learning could enhance electoral oversight. Working alongside Professor Dommett, the successful candidate will have the chance to engage in knowledge exchange activity, conducting rapid response and public facing research.

We are looking for someone with a PhD, or with alternative equivalent experience. You will have a strong interest in digital technology, democracy, trust and electoral regulation. You will have experience of quantitative and experimental methodologies, as well as qualitative research techniques. You will have considerable organisational skills and a willingness to adapt and take on new tasks. You will need to work independently, and as a part of a wider team, and will be working particularly closely with Professor Kate Dommett and Dr James Weinberg.
