We are looking for highly motivated nurse to join the Experimental Cancer Medicine Team (ECMT) at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. ECMT supports a growing portfolio of early phase research studies both commercial and investigator led, including first in human drug trials.

The post holder will work alongside a team of physicians, research nurses & clinical trial administrators on a portfolio of trials providing support to patients, administering trial treatments & carrying out trial assessments for patients on study.

Research nursing is an exciting and developing role, supported through the R&I division with a good education and development package in place to ensure that staff reach their potential.

Central to this role is the responsibility of assessing and managing the care pathways including the delivery of all specified treatments for participants in research within a multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities of the post include the coordination of the trial protocols and support for cancer patients.

A background in oncology, flexibility in working, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience in clinical research would be desirable but not essential.
An informal discussion about the post is strongly recommended with the possibility to spend some time with the team to understand better the requirements of the role.

The CRN will be involved in varied portfolio activities including clinical care of patients, patient recruitment and management, supporting team with data query resolution, reviewing protocol amendments, providing patient-centred insights to the research delivery team by supporting both the patients and the team through all aspects of clinical research in the ECMT research team.

With support from the team the CRN will ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the patients is maintained within the requirement of the multi-regulatory frameworks for clinical research ensuring compliance with ICH/GCP standards and Trust SOPs.

By utilising national frameworks for auditing patients experience the CRN will ensure patients will have the best possible experience whilst participating in clinical research.

Raise the profile of the clinical research nurse and clinical trials within the trust by engaging in promotional events relating to clinical research with attendance and contributions at local, national, and international meetings.

Demonstrate awareness and contribution to divisional, Trust and national objectives and strategies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Clinical Research Co-ordination

· Work under supervision in all areas of practice relating to clinical research.

· Understand and deliver care in accordance with regulatory approved clinical research protocols.

We are seeking a motivated, methodical Healthcare Science Practitioner (Clinical Technologist) with problem solving skills to join our x-ray equipment evaluation team. The successful applicant will join a growing team of ~30 - scientists, technologists and administrators - providing equipment quality assurance and scientific support to NHS and independent sector radiology departments in the North West of England (a few customers are further afield).

The successful candidate will be assisting in all aspects of the service, including regular travel to customer sites (occasional overnight stays) to provide performance testing on a variety of diagnostic imaging equipment (e.g. dental, CR&DR radiographic and fluoroscopic), radiation protection surveys of diagnostic radiology installations and calibration of radiation instruments. When not working off-site they will be analysing data and producing reports, assisting with training of staff and customers.

Candidates should have scientific and interpersonal skills. There is a need for good communication skills to be able to work with colleagues in physics and radiology and professional behaviours are expected. Proactive team working is essential as well as the ability to work independently.

A current valid driving licence and a willingness to travel is essential to the role.

Undertakes level B (physics) equipment performance and radiation protection surveys. Writes reports detaining findings and making recommendations. Investigates concerns where they arise. Takes ownership of the quality of their work.

A working understanding of x-ray equipment, radiation instrumentation (such as dosemeters) and the relevant UK ionising radiation regulations and guidance/standards will be expected

Calibrates x-ray dose measuring equipment

Providing advice on level A (radiographer) QC testing, review results and report findings. Training andsupporting customers to fulfil their QC requirements for equipment.

Support senior practitioners and scientists in aspects of regulatory compliance at The Christie and in the North West region. Taking a lead in a small aspect of organisation for the team as required.

Applicants should be registered with the RCT as a Clinical Technologist or the HCPC as a Healthcare Science Practitioner (or eligible for these registrations) and have experience in the use of a range of X-ray imaging equipment.

Suitable applicants without knowledge/skills/experience (or registration) will be considered for appointment at band 4 while training (see job description).

We are the Diagnostic Radiology and Radiation Protection Section of the Imaging Physics and Radiation Protection Group within CMPE, based at The Christie in Manchester.

Due to the size of the regional service we have access to an extensive portfolio of equipment with a focus on diagnostic/interventional radiology. Research Analyst - Surveys and data collection team

The GMC surveys and data collection team collect and analyse data relating to the medical education pathway. The Research Analyst will play a leading role in the surveys and data collection team developing the GMC's programme of national training surveys and supporting the processes of the UKMED by:

SEMH science teacher - Trafford - September start

A qualified teacher of Science / Science Teacher (MPS or UPS) is required at a specialist SEMH provision that caters for SEMH students from September. This provision is looking to recruit a Teacher of Science / Science Teacher who has recently taught in either a PRU/ Alternative Provision/ SEN School (SEMH) OR Mainstream School (with a lot of students with behavioural difficulties).
