About the role
As Conservation Project Manager you will bring together project management skills, specialist conservation and collections care expertise, problem solving, and team leadership skills to deliver collections projects at NCC. More information about NCC can be found below.

Reporting to the Group Conservation Manager, you will work collaboratively and proactively with other Project Managers and departments to enable the Conservation team to deliver Masterplan and Collections Services projects. This includes ensuring that conservation and collection care elements are correctly scoped and resourced and that conservation budgets are managed accordingly.

You will manage and matrix manage conservators across several projects. Using your conservation specialist knowledge of materials and practices, you will help your team plan works and review processes to ensure they are fit for purpose, making decisions to improve efficiencies and ways of working.

Full time (35 hours), Fixed term contract until Dec 2025 - Hybrid working from Wroughton Office.
Offering £40,133 per annum

There may be the possibility of the extension for this role depending on the Science Museum Group work programme.

About you
You will have solid experience of conservation project management with the ability to analyse, forward plan, coordinate and manage people. From this, you have the ability to find innovative conservation solutions to complex problems, and to define and report on key performance indicators, key dependencies and milestones and risk.

With great people and negotiation skills, you can maintain a strong reputation for delivery whist effectively engaging with senior stakeholders, and acting as a successful, and trusted ambassador for your team.

About the National Collections Centre
This position is based at the National Collections Centre, at the Science and Innovation Park in Wroughton within the Collection Services Department.

The 545-acre Science and Innovation Park is the home of the Science Museum Group's National Collections Centre (NCC), our hub for collections management and access. An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Neonatal Nurse to form a neonatal research team along with a neonatal consultant. The post holder will be a key member of the team and will be co-ordinate the unit’s participation in national/international trials. To identify potential participants to studies eligible for inclusion on the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) Portfolio.

implementation of the wider Neonatal research agenda.

To take responsibility as the prime care provider for a determined group of patients. She /he will work without direct supervision in the assessment group of all relevant care needs, development, and implementation of programmed of care.

To supervise and teach junior staff and pre and post registration student whilst maintaining a safe working environment.

To develop and maintain a high quality of nursing care based on the Trust’s mission statement, core objectives and Nursing, Midwifery & Healthcare Assistant Strategy.

To work within the codes of practice, professional guidelines, and Trust policies.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. Feasibility and Study set-up: - Contribute to the set-up of research studies within the wider research team. Working with Principal Investigators to develop initiatives to increase patient involvement. Support: - Assist in the selection and recruitment of participants in compliance with study inclusion / exclusion criteria. Receive informed consent and provide ongoing information, education and support to clinical trial patients (and their carers). - Assist in achieving NIHR High Level Objectives and GHNHSFT Key Performance Indicators for patient recruitment, speed and quality of research - Liaise with multi-disciplinary team members to teach and demonstrate procedures for the safe and smooth running of clinical trials and act as a training resource to other members of the clinical team and a contact point in matters concerning trial patients and trial protocols. - Ability to line manage, train and develop junior members of the team, act as a role model. - Act as a supervisor for students as applicable to professional registration. Study Delivery/Monitoring: - Good knowledge of clinical trials, including, but not limited to: Research Governance Framework, Good Clinical Practice for Clinical Trials. - Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clinical trial patients, including safe administration of treatments and drugs that are given within the context of a clinical trial, as applicable to professional registration and Trust POPAM policy. Reporting of serious adverse events to all relevant personnel, following the relevant Standard Operating Procedures. Assess patients as required by trial protocols and take appropriate and timely action for patients with treatment toxicities, where appropriate. - Perform trial specific clinical observations and assessments as mandated by trial protocol. Venepuncture, test urine samples and administer treatments for which training has been given, as applicable to professional registration, R&I Standard Operating Procedures and Trust POPAM policy. - To be responsible for requesting internal monitoring reports for locally sponsored/hosted studies and actioning as required. Responsible for actioning externally sponsored monitoring reports in a timely manner. - Ensure trial protocols are followed and that trials are conducted according to the Research Governance Framework Procedures, R&I Standard Operating Procedures and Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP). Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. - Comply with Trust policies and guidelines. - Ensure trial records are accurately maintained, including, but not limited to: records in nursing/medical electronic and paper notes, case report forms and trial site files. Adhere to requirements to protect confidentiality. Maintain study records on EDGE (Clinical Trials IT system). Other Duties: - Support the embedding of clinical research within our Trust. Contribute to strategies that inform Trust staff of current clinical trial activity/progress. - Respond to change in line with the needs of service provision, working flexibly within the delivery team. - Identify own learning needs and proactively seek educational and training opportunities to develop and maintain competency. You will be working as part of the Science team based at Patchway Community School, you will be expected to provide specialist support to teaching staff, including in-class support with student activities and to work without direct supervision as agreed with the Curriculum Team Leader for Science. You will have a relevant vocational or academic qualification or practical experience in a Science related activity. ICT skills are essential. We are looking for someone who is organised, flexible and enjoys working in a practical environment.
The post holder may also from time to time be asked to help Technicians from other departments.
