Joining Tarmac’s UK & Ireland Land & Natural Resources team, you’ll embark on a two-year development program that blends hands-on experience with guided mentorship. Reporting to our Head of Technical Services, and collaborating with Quarry Design and Geotechnical Managers, you’ll contribute to meeting key regional and national mineral management goals. This role offers unique exposure to the entire mineral lifecycle—from exploration to restoration—ensuring sustainable practices for both our business and the communities we serve.

Main Responsibilities

With the support and guidance of experienced professionals, your key responsibilities will include:

• Participate in the design of quarries and earthmoving schemes, reviewing expert consultant reports and supporting site-specific strategies.

• Conduct safe and effective fieldwork, building skills in safety practices and contractor management.

• Foster relationships with operational teams, local communities, and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet business and community objectives.

• Work alongside teams to deliver impactful projects and support business enhancement initiatives.

• Apply geological principles in real-world business settings, ensuring compliance with geological and geotechnical standards.

• Assist in the preparation of planning applications, consents, and permits for sustainable mineral working.

• Develop reports, geological plans, and deliver presentations that support decision-making.

• Support the development and management of Tarmac’s GIS and data platforms, contributing to innovative resource management.

To provide research within the Research & Intelligence team in support of DRM. Research is primarily focused on delivering research on strategic partners and their market sectors to inform and maximise the overall ongoing relationship with Defence.

5. Principal Areas of Accountability, Tasks and Duties

a. Maintain delivery of Research & Intelligence’s key outputs:

i. Conduct due diligence checks on organisations signing the AFC and those nominated for Silver and Gold ERS awards.

ii. Conduct DRM surveys, including the annual Satisfaction Survey and the Customer Satisfaction Survey, and provide statistical analysis of the results.

iii. Produce qualitative and quantitative research in response to DRM queries to underpin its operations and output, in addition to the production of proactive research outputs.

b. Providing direct support to the Senior Research Officer, including:

i. Support to commission, manage and monitor external research projects.

ii. Support to develop, standardise and improve DRM’s research processes, as well as identify new research sources pertaining to market research, logistics research, etc.

iii. Produce snapshots of industry sectors and organisational activity within them.

iv. Support in the regular refresh and validation of DRM Accounts, utilising appropriate research sources.

v. Utilise the Salesforce CRM system to provide supporting information e.g. on accounts, regional and sector data and contacts.

vi. Assist in the conducting of focus groups as required.

vii. Analyse complex data and conduct relevant statistical analysis on data in order to decipher key data trends, and subsequently construct appropriate recommendations from generated output.

c. Any other duties within the broad remit of this role that may be reasonably required.


Success Profile

7. Skills and Qualifications.

a. Educated to degree level or equivalent.

b. An exceptional knowledge of Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

c. Computer literate with a strong familiarity of management information or CRM systems (i.e. Salesforce).


8. Experience.

a. Essential.

i. Up to two years’ relevant experience in research provision or comparable.

ii. Familiarity with research methods and with conducting qualitative and quantitative research.

iii. Comfortable utilising internet research tools and using open source and paid sources to find information.


b. Desirable.

i. Understanding of both military and corporate cultures.

ii. Educated to postgraduate level.

iii. Personal interest in current affairs.

Your New Role:

We are currently looking to appoint a new SEN Science Teacher and join our amazing team at our unique outdoor setting to students aged 11-19 in our growing Worcester setting based in Clifton-Upon-Teme on a full time, permanent basis.

We're looking for a passionate individual with experience of helping to develop a child in line with targets from their academic and pastoral plans. The successful candidate will be delivering group sessions at a base specifically crafted for a small group of students. This "homely" feeling enables us to nurture our students and provide them with the best education experience once we've successfully engaged with them emotionally. Therefore, we need practitioners who can build trusting relationships and provide security to our vulnerable learners and who are able to communicate clearly, confidently and demonstrate resilience in the face of high pressure circumstances.
Outdoor learning is central in our provisions. The appointed candidate will need to be an advocate of outdoor learning, incorporating this into as many lessons as possible. You will also be delivering small group sessions at a base specifically crafted for a small group of students. This "homely" feeling enables us to nurture our students and provide them with the best education experience once we've successfully engaged with them emotionally and you will have a responsibility in supporting pupils in processing new information, which will be built upon a solid understanding of the student's manifestation of autism.

Experience:

The appointed candidates will have a minimum of 1 years' experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions.
