Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits on ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001 and BRC V6 standards
• Coordinate the internal audit team to ensure all audits are carried out on time

Daily duties will include:

• Conduct routine inspections of labels and print products at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Perform visual inspections to detect defects, imperfections, or deviations from quality standards, such as colour accuracy, print clarity, and alignment.
• Document inspection results, test findings, and quality issues accurately and thoroughly in written reports or electronic databases.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify and address root causes of quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence of defects.
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures, protocols, and work instructions to optimize efficiency and minimise errors.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and other team members to ensure alignment on quality objectives, priorities, and expectations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, quality audits, and training programs to enhance your skills and contribute to the overall success of the quality assurance department.

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

The roles of the Quality Improvement Manager are to:

 promote and support the improvement agenda
 effectively manage allocated areas of responsibility, including line
management of a team of Quality /Improvement Officers and Education Support Officers
 support the delivery of the policies set by Education and Children’s Services Directorate under the overall direction of the Director of Education and children’s services
 provide leadership, vision, professional advice and effective
management to the Council and in particular, the Head of Education
Services.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

 Educated to degree level
 Relevant professional teaching qualification
 Ability to provide evidence of GTCS registration or eligibility
 PVG Membership for Regulated work with Children and/or Protected
Adults or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being
made.

Your new role
As a Senior Quality Improvement Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the manufacturing processes, products, and services meet the highest quality standards. You'll be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining compliance with ISO9001 requirements, and fostering a culture of quality excellence.You will report to the Operations Manager and have a supportive team report to you.

Hours:
Mon - Thurs 8am - 5pm and Fri until 1.30

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing) or 4 years experience in a quality role. You will have proven experience in quality management, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of ISO9001 standards and quality control practices. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma or ISO auditor certification desirable but not essential as long as have working knowledge.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our client in the Canterbury area as an Engineering QA Inspector. This role will involve the inspection of vendor supplied products and verifying that the product meets all the drawing and specification requirements prior to release to stock.

Hours:

08:00 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday

08:00 - 13:30 Friday

Other duties will involve:
