POSITION SUMMARY:
The Compliance function is a trusted partner in promoting and supporting an ethical work environment and a culture of ethics, integrity and compliance with the ultimate aim to pursue Menarini Group’s mission and protect its reputation. The Compliance function pursues its mission though designing Compliance Programs and facilitating their implementation and oversight, through education, advice and monitoring, thereby enabling a risk-informed decision making and supporting management and employees to make the right decisions always.
Reporting directly to Corporate Compliance Director, Corporate Compliance Support Director (CCSD) APAC will partner with regional and country based management and resources to support and facilitate the implementation of Corporate Compliance Programs across the 13 markets of the Asia-Pacific (China, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zeeland and India) in a consistent and harmonious manner.
The CCSD will communicate, counsel, train and monitor implementation of the Corporate Compliance Programs and initiatives across the markets, also ensuring such initiatives and programs are aligned with Menarini’s Global Compliance Framework and related Global Policies over time.
The CCSD is also expected to support the design and enforcement of Corporate Compliance Education and Training Programs across the region, including tight monitoring and taking direct responsibility over appropriate and timely delivery and tracking of such programs over time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development and implementation of a robust, word-class Corporate Compliance Framework that enhances the reputation of Menarini and minimizes its risk of non-compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and self-regulation that affect the Company’s operations.
- Develop a thorough understanding of, and familiarity with, the Company’s business, its organization, markets, facilities, customers and competitors, in order to identify trends and design and implement appropriate programs, plans and strategies.
- Clearly communicate throughout the Company a culture of ethics, integrity and compliance, including personal accountability at all levels.
- Support Corporate Compliance in the implementation of the Company’s Global Code of Conduct, Ethics and Integrity Policies, Global Anti-Corruption Program and any other relevant global policy and procedural document; improve and recommend updates to the policies, procedures and programs at the division, and at the regional and country level.
- Perform independent reviews aimed to ensure that Regional Compliance Officer, Country Officers/Liaisons at country/market level are implementing and monitoring country/market specific compliance programs, in alignment with Menarini’s Global Compliance Programs and Policies.
- Apply project management skills to ensure effective monitoring over implementation of programs, trainings and initiatives, also meeting high quality standard, deadlines and expectations of stakeholders.
- Proactively collaborate with business to promote whistleblowing and reporting channels, and continually improve the process to encourage the management of issues for early, proactive resolution in order to mitigate greater risks.
- Support the development education and training programs related to Global Compliance initiatives for the APAC countries/markets, to ensure appropriate training and communication contents are delivered to appropriate targets, with the established frequencies.
- Support the delivery, as needed, of global compliance training and communication initiatives, also providing assurance over the appropriate tracking and evaluation of trainings, with ultimate aim to explain and reinforce management’s commitment to ethical standards integrity and compliance.
- Support Regional and Country Compliance Officers in implementing requirements deriving from global licensors’ due diligence and other contractual obligations.
- In partnership with regional business leadership and Regional/Country Compliance Officers, facilitate and contribute to Regional Compliance Committees and support related recommendations and action plans.
- Lead, in coordination with Corporate Compliance, regional compliance risk assessments; manage communication of resulting reports/ recommendations and support any required business remediation plans / corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain key contact relationships with management at Regional/Country level and various functional area(s) of responsibility to support the Corporate Compliance Director and Regional/Country Compliance Officers in assessing and mitigating risks across the organization.
- Continuously report to Corporate Compliance Director any significant matters regarding the market compliance programs and ensures regional alignment on compliance strategic initiatives and programs
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master’s Degree from a globally recognized institution is preferred
- Candidates should have at least 12 years’ experience in compliance, preferably from the healthcare industry (pharmaceutical or medical device)
- Intimate knowledge of anti-bribery, anti-corruption, healthcare compliance and trade control legislation is essential
- Compliance experience across APAC countries and markets is also highly desirable
- Excellent project management skills
- Demonstrated leadership and strong professional presence are key
- Ability to influence up, down and sideways in the organization
- Coaching skills are advantageous
- Excellent presentation skills and a strong communicator, ie able to breakdown and explain complex issues simply
