Typical assignments include:

• Managing, coordinating, and controlling property and/or equipment for an inventory management program at a major organizational component, such as a region or center.
• Developing new or innovative inventory controls, procedures, and policies to ensure property/equipment protection, security, and maintenance to accommodate existing or anticipated program needs.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:

• Serves as senior DoD specialist and advisor on DoD contracting and pricing regulations, policies, and associated procedures.
• Within areas of responsibility, develops new and refines existing procurement policies and regulations including developing and testing new techniques and procedures, evaluating and developing proposed innovations including proposed legislative initiatives, participating in formulation of government-wide policies, providing policy guidance and training to the workforce, and ensuring consistent policy application.
• Teams with acquisition professionals and government stakeholders at all levels to develop and communicate solutions on challenging, complex pricing and contracting issues.
• Serves as the procurement analyst responsible for initiating, developing and recommending contracting operational policies, procedures, guidance and oversight of the Defense Department governmentwide commercial purchase card (GPC) program.
• Serves as a procurement analyst within the DoD Purchase Card Program Management Office.
  Reviews the effectiveness of Component (Army, Navy, Air Force and 4th Estate) purchase card program policies and procedures to ensure that they are consistent with governing law, regulation and DoD policy.
• Leads teams across Component card programs and/or other functional communities within the department to develop and integrate innovative approaches to determine efficiencies in the use of the card and to streamline Departmental processes and operations while minimizing associated costs.
• Works with the Director of Contracting eBusiness (who is the Director of the DoD Purchase Card Program Management Office) and other senior leaders across the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and the Components to define, integrate, and implement purchase card functional processes to support other strategic goals/objectives of the Department of Defense.
• Develops new policies, methodologies, and techniques to promulgate the innovative solutions and methodologies designed.

This position will allow you to use your expertise in administrative oversight and assistance to provide substantive support to Customs and Border Protection upper management. This position starts at a salary of $82,764.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $107,590.00 (GS-11, Step 10) with promotion potential to $107,590 (GS-11 Step 10).

In this position, you will become a key member of the Office of Information Technology team performing the below typical work assignments:

• Adjusting account records to reflect changes in usage, physical inventories, transfer of property, and physical location changes.
• Projecting needs for accountable property and supporting supplies.
• Performing random inventories, identifies discrepancies, conducts in-depth searches for missing items or equipment, and reconciles inventory and stock levels.
• Maintaining inventory control records in an automated system.
• Monitoring activity in the accounts and ensures that assets and supplies are available when needed.

• You will track the status of actions/orders using automated and manual systems and through contacts with vendors/contractors and with functional personnel within the command.
