This is an onsite position based in Austin, TX

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as an interface with multiple sub-groups within a business unit or functional area such as Sales, Operations, Engineering, Service and Finance for the purpose of business technology alignment, solution discovery, project portfolio management, and relationship management.

• Architect and design complex business process/business application solutions to address cross functional needs in Purchasing/ Supply Chain areas, and convert the solution design to functional and technical specifications. Oversee software application configuration, prepare and execute testing (unit, integration, performance, acceptance) and data conversions.  Identifies and recommend industry BKM's for integrated solution design and standards.

• Work with the technical teams (ABAP, Security, Basis) to translate the specifications to technical design documents and configuration documents. Co-ordinate with other stakeholders like Finance, Trade, Security for alignment on the solution and making sure all policies are adhered to.

• Provides and/or oversees business application functional support services to meet customer performance, availability, service level agreements and customer satisfaction targets. Oversees different applications and IT systems that support the Supply Chain functions and helps with tuning of such systems for availability and performance. Helps production support teams in resolving complex production issues/ outages and completion of root cause analysis. Coordinates with infrastructure and technical teams, support providers and application vendors. Drives implementation of corrective and preventative actions.   Evaluates/recommends/plans life cycle for patches, point releases, and major upgrades.

• Responsible for execution of minor enhancements and medium to large projects and support services within the Supply Chain and related areas within allocated budget. Provide cost and time estimates and develops project budgets and schedules. Understands cost models and cost drivers for the services and recommend best option for each requirement including onsite/ offshore models. May be responsible for timely renewal of maintenance and subscription contracts for services or tools used by Business and IT in Supply Chain area.

• Ensures adherence to GIS project management, software application development, testing, service management, change management, RCA and other relevant processes, standards, governance, and controls.  May manage execution of sox controls and testing and support internal and external audits. 

• Plan and manage medium to large scale cross functional projects in SAP ERP and integrations with boundary systems to ensure effective and efficient execution in line with guardrails of scope, timeline, budget and quality.

• Keep track and make sure the applications in scope are scanned periodically as per schedule and address any security vulnerabilities identified during the scans on priority. Consider application security as a critical factor during the solutioning and design for any enhancements and new implementations. Work with the ISRM and infrastructure teams for all aspects of application security and vulnerabilities

• Oversees/manages contingent workers performing services across multiple projects or service areas.  Responsible for the selection, on boarding and off boarding of contingent workers in a timely manner. Manages contingent worker project/task assignments and ensure work product quality. Approves contingent worker time sheets/costs.

• Knowledge and skills in supply chain applications like SAP Ariba, Coupa, Ivalua, SAP SRM etc. is preferred but not necessary.

• Exposure to S/4HANA architecture, features is helpful but not necessary.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. Job Description

Position Overview:

Responsible for managing shipping, receiving, and storage of both raw materials and finished goods.  Must utilize space, people, equipment and time allotted to the area of responsibility in the most efficient manner possible to accomplish the warehouse function.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Supervises, trains, and evaluates all hourly Warehouse employees.  Administers all plant rules, programs, and procedures that apply to hourly employees.
• Maintains standards of quality to meet customer and internal specifications.  Strives for continuous improvement in quality performance through proper training, good communication, effective leadership/supervision, and follow-up with all members of the shift.
• Maintains safe working conditions throughout the plant by taking corrective action on unsafe conditions or acts.  May serve as a member of the Plant Safety Committee.  Implements all approved safety recommendations, and insures compliance with established safety standards, including forklift certification, hearing conservation, and other programs required by law and/or management.
• Conducts monthly safety meetings with shift.
• Effectively handles employee complaints, suggestions, questions, and conflicts in accordance with the guidelines established in the Employee Handbook and in accordance with company policies/procedures.  Maintains employee morale and discipline through fairness and impartiality.
• Assists in the review of labor and materials costs as they relate to operations.  Analyzes, pursues, and recommends methods for reducing these costs.
• Coordinates the implementation of any approved material or method changes.  Responsible for communicating these changes to assigned personnel and follows-up to insure understanding and proper implementation.
• Keeps current on technical developments and changes in order to appraise or make recommendations to management and supervisors and to instruct and train employees.
• Schedules delivery of supplies for the production area to include preforms, tier sheets, top frames, pallets, boxes, and labels as necessary through Forklift Drivers.  Maintains inventory of these supplies based on projected usage and informs Supply Chain Manager of what is necessary to order.
• Maintains accurate reports of all daily shipments of finished goods to customers and freight bills of lading.
• Responsible for all operational equipment in the warehouse area including forklifts, trailers, and dock doors.  Communicates with vendors and negotiates maintenance cost to ensure equipment is in safe, working order on an ongoing basis and at the most cost effective rates.
• Supervises staff to develop and maintain unloading and organized storage of raw materials area to include preforms, labels, top frames, tier sheets, and pallets.
• Responsible for the following SAP functions: proper ticketing of finished goods and raw materials, cycle counting, inventory control and reconciliation, HFI coordination and tracking.
• Performs other related assignments that may be required by the Supply Chain Manager. 

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree; prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or other related discipline.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory position; preferably in plastics manufacturing.  Knowledge of raw materials and inventory in plastics environment.

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Hiring Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Wilmington, OH

Shifts: Monday– Friday 7am - 3:30pm

Biweekly Pay Rate: $18.99/hr.

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Manage chemical handling, including solvents, flammables, and oxidizers.

• Perform glass washing and restocking to maintain laboratory supplies and uphold 5S standards.

• Organize and store materials appropriately.

• Coordinate with Hazardous Materials (HM) personnel for necessary material reorders.

• Maintain accurate documentation and input data into Excel spreadsheets for customer metrics.

• Utilize the Avantor Inventory Manager for inventory control.

• Employ RF scanner technology to track received items, particularly chemicals used.

• Wear steel toe shoes as a safety requirement.

• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training protocols.

What we’re looking for 

• Education: High school diploma is required  Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience:

• 1–2 years of experience working in a GMP or pharmaceutical environment is preferred.

• 1–2 years applicable experience in customer services/inventory stocking/or account management

• Minimum 1 -2 years of face-to-face customer service experience is required

• Microsoft Teams experience preferred

• Knowledge of Information intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel

• Solid understanding and experience in either shipping, inventory, or purchasing

In this role you will:

• Be responsible for tasks in inventory management (Consumables, chemicals, samples, etc.) and accurate inventory control, processing requests leading to inventory movement on and off site and fulfilling the customer's metric reporting.

• Monitoring slow moving and dead inventory, conduct cycle counting, yearly physical inventories, and reporting.

• Work purchasing functions including but not limited to back-order reporting, order entry and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, managing quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues.

• Performs shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping information into the customer computer system, and equipment inspections.

• Responsible for handling hazardous material and preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements.

• Gathers, trends and analyzes data generated to provide sample metrics updates and improve inventory accuracy.

• Documents and investigates quality events associated to manufacturing operations to ensure effective root-cause analysis, corrective action plans determination, product impact and remediation.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Works in a team setting to reach warehouse operations goals. Perform basic warehouse duties including: shipping, packing, loading, unloading and sorting.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Primary responsibility involves loading and unloading freight in an efficient and safe manner utilizing the appropriate tools and equipment.
• Moves product to storage areas using the proper equipment, efficiently stacks, and stores the merchandise in the appropriate area according to established sequences and procedures. Ensures items are stored in an orderly and accessible manner.
• Reviews orders for shipment, pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that adheres to company standards.
• Ensures all duties are accomplished in compliance with all Distribution Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
• Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Operates any materials handling equipment safely and efficiently and according to the proper procedures.
• Uses radio frequency equipment for picking/selecting, receiving and string functions, as required.
• Ensures a clean, neat and orderly work area, cleans and maintains supplies, tools and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations, Occupational Safety & health Administration (OSHA) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) standards.
• Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Keeping appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.
• Maintains all assigned material handling equipment in good condition to ensure adherence safety standards.
• Uses radio frequency equipment for picking/selecting, receiving, and string functions, as required.

• May be required to perform other warehouse functions which may include but are not limited to:

  • Participating in cycle counting.     
  • Performing labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
  • Examining and inspecting stock items for wear or defects and reporting damage to supervisor.
  • Keeping records on the items received or distributed.
• May provide assistance to junior staff with more general support tasks that require a better understanding of functions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
• May refer to senior staff for assistance with higher level problems that may arise.
• Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
• Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Role:

Identify, manage, escalate, and mitigate supply-based risks throughout the procurement life cycle in support of prime contract requirements, operational goals, and business strategy by effectively partnering with other functional groups such as Legal, Contracts, Compliance, Risk Management, or Finance. Administer subcontracts, modifications, and task orders while ensuring compliance with Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) requirements and Booz Allen policies. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required. 

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a procurement specialist, including government contracting

• Experience with negotiating pricing and terms

• Experience with Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) audits

• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

• HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with evaluating requirements for hardware or software to support DoD government client contracts
