To provide consultant psychiatric input to a high functioning community EIS as part of a multi-disciplinary service. The role is to provide a comprehensive assessment and NICE concordant treatment package of care to all patients.

To provide high-quality Mental Health Care for adults following the EIS frameworks

To work closely with other teams and Consultants to ensure coherent and high-quality mental health care for adults with severe and enduring mental health problems within the Heywood,Middleton and Rochdale (Rochdale borough) area

To work with the MDT to support the development of the service, and to attend local and divisional service development meetings

This is an exciting time to join the Trust and there are many opportunities to contribute to the organisations’ development and to look at service redesign models. Rochdale has a very strong teaching commitment and candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching of medical and nursing staff. There are close links to ongoing research projects. The post holder will be based at the Outpatients department Birch Hill Hospital Rochdale. Rochdale operates an Inpatient- Outpatient model (New Ways of Working) and is staffed by 9 full-time Consultants in Adult Psychiatry and old age psychiatry and a nurse consultant on the female adult ward. Each Consultant Psychiatrist is allocated a Junior Doctor (NW Deanery training schemes) to work with them .

Main Duties/Responsibilities

As a Band 5 A&E Nurse with Lancashire Teaching Hsopitals NHS Trust you will:

• Provide constant monitoring and care for patients in a seriously ill or unstable condition.
• Actively supporting emergency admissions and their families, communicating clinical information using a variety of methods, to ensure effective understanding.
• Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.
• To recognise, review and report patients/clients' condition and any changes to it to senior members of staff within the multidisciplinary team.
• Responsible for adhering to the NMC professional Code of Conduct.
• Taking blood/fitting a canula, undertake patient observations (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration rate and oxygen level) as patient need dictates throughout the shift.
• Treatment of resus patients and Triage

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

Essential

• Be a registered nurse.
• At least 2 years post-graduate experience.
• 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years.
• You will need to pass an enhanced background check.
